Taking in refugees is the geopolitical equivalent of rewarding a spoiled child.

I listened to some of the conversation between the guy who did it and the air traffic controller

It's pretty sad

Probably had some kind of manic episode and decided to steal a plane and kill himself with it

At least he didnt kill anyone else

I recognize that’s not even remotely the state of every refugee but the comparison is kind of twisted

I’m not even saying we should accept refuges left and right

But to say it’s the equivalent of rewarding a spoiled child doesn’t make sense

It does make sense.

Most immigrants coming to America are not running for their lives, they simply want a materially better life. They know they can enter the United States illegally and skip all of the tedium, disadvantaging good hardworking potential citizens who might like to become Americans.

America has some of the most lax immigration laws in the world.

Maybe an analogy of, letting the kid on the block with the abusive parents hide in your house because they are going on a rampage would be better, because even that analogy accounts for the problems that kid could bring. Maybe they aren’t properly suited for a fair civilized household, and maybe the house isn’t big enough for them

I feel like you’re conflating illegal immigrants with refugees

I acknowledged refugees, I said they were a minority.

So the analogy of a spoiled child is more correct.

Because it is more representative.

I’d agree that the spoiled child can apply to illegals

But the message I originally responded to was specifically talking about refugees

It's hard for poor people to get into America easily

And people with a steady income don't come to America

Maybe if America is so concerned with being the "world police" and stopping immigration, it should help improve conditions in Mexico

I don't care about Mexico. I care about building a glorious 30 foot tall wall.

And shooting anyone who tries to come illegally.

An attack on a nation's sovereignty is akim to treason and therefore should receive the death penalty when broken.
