An AI is an world changing event.

2018-10-27 04:32:37 UTC

If we really accomplished making an AI, it might not even be so special, because it would basically be like a person.

2018-10-27 04:32:42 UTC

So, as boring as you guys.

2018-10-27 04:32:45 UTC

no offense

2018-10-27 04:32:53 UTC

I rather have a AI that is boring than a AI that is deadly.

2018-10-27 04:33:11 UTC

if you have truly made AI

2018-10-27 04:33:14 UTC

then both are possible

2018-10-27 04:33:19 UTC

or you have NOT made AI

2018-10-27 04:33:24 UTC

Maybe it would start watching Family Guy and post memes.

2018-10-27 04:33:26 UTC

An unshackled AI would be unpredictable and dangerous.

2018-10-27 04:33:44 UTC

That's why I think AIs are boring.

2018-10-27 04:33:54 UTC

unpredictable, no, dangerous , sure.

2018-10-27 04:34:03 UTC

The true future is in neural prosthetics.

2018-10-27 04:34:08 UTC

I rather have a AI in a body, tangle body we can touch and see. I would feel more comfortable being around them.

2018-10-27 04:34:14 UTC

Like in Detroit.

2018-10-27 04:34:16 UTC

It should extend your abilities, but not your will.

2018-10-27 04:34:27 UTC

So, no AI on discord?

2018-10-27 04:34:30 UTC

It should help you remember the entire map of New York with one glance.

2018-10-27 04:34:35 UTC

thats just cybernetics at that point

2018-10-27 04:34:38 UTC

What're we talking about now?

2018-10-27 04:34:44 UTC

idk

2018-10-27 04:34:45 UTC

thats not ai

2018-10-27 04:34:53 UTC

Maybe if we get into the realm of cybernetics... combing humans and AI together into one being.

2018-10-27 04:34:58 UTC

Now that would be interesting.

2018-10-27 04:35:07 UTC

Cell phones aren't that?

2018-10-27 04:35:08 UTC

The interesting AIs wouldn't be so human like.

2018-10-27 04:35:12 UTC

Isn't that what elon has been talking about?

2018-10-27 04:35:15 UTC

We already know what humans are like and they are boring.

2018-10-27 04:35:21 UTC

Combining humans with tech

2018-10-27 04:35:33 UTC

I know the military is going to create an fucking evil AI.

2018-10-27 04:35:35 UTC

now if we go full Elon, he says that the cell phone network is like a hive mind living now

2018-10-27 04:35:35 UTC

Period.

2018-10-27 04:35:37 UTC

My back itches

2018-10-27 04:35:46 UTC

but i still dont consider that AI

2018-10-27 04:35:53 UTC

AI is sentience in program

2018-10-27 04:35:57 UTC

humans are boring? What's more interesting?

2018-10-27 04:35:58 UTC

I would want an AI that I can give a Mathematical theorem and it can read the Internet to prove or disprove it.

2018-10-27 04:36:01 UTC

thought without the program

2018-10-27 04:36:09 UTC

once it breaks the programming

2018-10-27 04:36:11 UTC

then its AI

2018-10-27 04:36:12 UTC

What if we had a AI that aids human thinking? What if they help keep our bodies in check with nanobots....

2018-10-27 04:36:14 UTC

How much were AIs in Detroit become human?

2018-10-27 04:36:19 UTC

What if the AI is there to give us information at a mere thought

2018-10-27 04:36:21 UTC

I want an AI that can do science.

2018-10-27 04:36:25 UTC

I mean a deadbeat father got one, how hard is it?

2018-10-27 04:36:27 UTC

ANd then you can ask it any question.

2018-10-27 04:36:27 UTC

I believe the inter-net is very much a hive mind

2018-10-27 04:36:36 UTC

The ultimate AI is simply a science bot.

2018-10-27 04:36:40 UTC

I like to see a AI that invents things....

2018-10-27 04:36:41 UTC

Wait, like a search engine? Don't we already have those...

2018-10-27 04:36:51 UTC

Search engines can't think.

2018-10-27 04:36:57 UTC

a search engine is just a program

2018-10-27 04:36:59 UTC

Right, but you guys aren't asking for that stuff

2018-10-27 04:37:07 UTC

you are asking for tools, tools we already have.

2018-10-27 04:37:08 UTC

An AI should make observations about the envrionment and come up with models, like scientists.

2018-10-27 04:37:16 UTC

It would be 100% unbiased.

2018-10-27 04:37:22 UTC

It could find cures for disease.

2018-10-27 04:37:26 UTC

It could cure cancer.

2018-10-27 04:37:30 UTC

I want to see a AI that aids humans, helps humans, has a relationship with humans. Yes we would look like scytophrantics.

2018-10-27 04:37:40 UTC

It would work nonstop and never get emotional about results. It would just follow the evidence.

2018-10-27 04:37:45 UTC

It would be all within our mind.

2018-10-27 04:38:03 UTC

AI cannot understand context. Which is why Dankula was in court in the first place. <:NPC:500042527231967262>

2018-10-27 04:38:07 UTC

i mean, if you want the matrix, we can hook you up with that now

2018-10-27 04:38:24 UTC

Full VR dive?

2018-10-27 04:38:25 UTC

ALl the AI needs to understand is the scientific method.

2018-10-27 04:38:26 UTC

XD

2018-10-27 04:38:35 UTC

I'm unsure "unbiased" is ever achievable given that life begets life and so life needs to create the "unbiased" AI.
An unbiased AI is the very AI that is being spoken against in this conversation; an AI that could wipe humanity out in an instant because it has no connection to humanity

2018-10-27 04:38:37 UTC

ANd then it will replace all scientists.

2018-10-27 04:39:01 UTC

An AI does need that human element.

2018-10-27 04:39:04 UTC

The good element.

2018-10-27 04:39:12 UTC

Love, compassion, kindness, understanding, etc, etc...

2018-10-27 04:39:16 UTC

Unbiased is actually pretty easy. @willc

2018-10-27 04:39:17 UTC

AI is a buttmunch.

2018-10-27 04:39:34 UTC

it could be

2018-10-27 04:39:37 UTC

An AI that measures air humidity every day and feeds it into a neural network is unbiased.

2018-10-27 04:39:39 UTC

it could be

2018-10-27 04:39:42 UTC

all of those things are also bad things we don't like

2018-10-27 04:39:45 UTC

Or an AI that classifies images is unbiased.

2018-10-27 04:39:45 UTC

love is hate

2018-10-27 04:39:49 UTC

pain is pleasure

2018-10-27 04:39:52 UTC

etc.

2018-10-27 04:39:58 UTC

Notice something...

2018-10-27 04:40:03 UTC

That isn't "thinking" though. That is running through an algorithm of specified ends

2018-10-27 04:40:04 UTC

Anyone else notice this.

2018-10-27 04:40:13 UTC

Youtube is starting to have a bunch of breast feeding videos.

2018-10-27 04:40:19 UTC

nothing new

2018-10-27 04:40:21 UTC

With women who are breastfeeding their children.

2018-10-27 04:40:28 UTC

i don't watch youtube, cept occasionally when u guys link them here

2018-10-27 04:40:35 UTC

Isn't that against Youtube's terms of service.

2018-10-27 04:40:35 UTC

Again, you're teaching the model what to look for

2018-10-27 04:40:41 UTC

It is kind of nudity.

2018-10-27 04:40:45 UTC
2018-10-27 04:40:54 UTC

You're sending a bunch of data and saying "this is the result I want" and sending more data and saying "this is what I don't want"

2018-10-27 04:40:55 UTC

@willc Yes, and where does the bias come in?

2018-10-27 04:41:01 UTC

yt is very confusing when it comes to guideline enforcement

2018-10-27 04:41:23 UTC

I am not biased simply because I put pictures of dogs on one heap and pictures of cats on another. And that's enough to train an "AI".

WHere is the bias?

2018-10-27 04:41:23 UTC

Heck there is even a bias layer in tensorflow

2018-10-27 04:41:30 UTC

Where?

2018-10-27 04:41:39 UTC

simple, they'll do whatever they want. How is that confusing?
