2018-09-19 07:34:25 UTC

I'm using a 4790k personally

2018-09-19 07:36:03 UTC

Whenever I have to help a potential cx build a pc and they say they are going to render or something though

2018-09-19 07:36:08 UTC

I point them to ryzens

2018-09-19 07:36:12 UTC

gaming? intel

2018-09-19 07:37:41 UTC

Yah intel can clock a lot better.. 4.2-4.3ghz on the newer ryzens vs intel hitting 5ghz lol Thats a pretty big gap.

2018-09-19 07:38:20 UTC

yeah, and getting large core count on intel is expensive

2018-09-19 07:38:51 UTC

but tbh

2018-09-19 07:38:57 UTC

unless you're like 1440 144hz gaming

2018-09-19 07:39:05 UTC

high end ryzen with a 1080ti

2018-09-19 07:39:13 UTC

will cover most else

2018-09-19 07:44:15 UTC

I don't play much cs:go an bf1.. been waiting for star citizen to be released for like a decade lol

2018-09-19 07:44:55 UTC

my crappy 970 gtx can handle 1440p on both those titles.. i'll probably upgrade to something decent when star citizen is finally released in like 2026 ๐Ÿ˜„

2018-09-19 07:46:45 UTC

If crypto keeps dropping i'll probably pick up a used 1080 ti when they're being unloaded by miners though if its cheap

2018-09-19 07:49:41 UTC

miners shouldn't be using 1080ti's

2018-09-19 07:49:48 UTC

1070ti's are the best price to performance

2018-09-19 07:50:11 UTC

one of my company's techs is also a miner on the side lol

2018-09-19 07:50:34 UTC

the jump to 1080 from 70ti is too much for only an 8% gain

2018-09-19 07:50:39 UTC

ti to ti more so

2018-09-19 07:51:27 UTC

when the price spiked an everything else was bought out a bunch of people bought all the 1080ti lol I think they were good for ZEC but they went the ASIC route. The ethenlargement pill helped make them mine ethash decent enough though but if the price of eth drops much more they'll probably end up getting dumped on ebay.

2018-09-19 07:57:33 UTC

This is scary

2018-09-19 07:57:48 UTC

The thing is, I was hearing about another story like this earlier today

2018-09-19 07:57:57 UTC

(there's news links in the thread as well)

2018-09-19 07:58:04 UTC

https://datasociety.net/wp-content/uploads/2018/09/DS_Alternative_Influence.pdf Very interesting study that's trending across the net

2018-09-19 08:02:24 UTC

That infographic of whos communicating with who on that datasociety pdf.. poor computing forever just hanging out by himself nobody likes him everybody hates him sitting in the garden eating worms.. seriously i like his content

2018-09-19 08:04:56 UTC

@Ace K Yes, it's given us all a bunch of new videos to watch. Thanks for the reference.

2018-09-19 08:05:49 UTC

Can't help but think that it's mostly your way to give an F-U to Data & Society

2018-09-19 08:06:08 UTC

Oh no. I only knew of Tim pool and Jordan Peterson.

2018-09-19 08:06:22 UTC

I heard of Sargon a bit on here but he never seemed terribly worth watching personalyl.

2018-09-19 08:06:48 UTC

Actually, add Rubin to that list.

2018-09-19 08:07:08 UTC

But yeah, this Chris Ray Gun guy makes some good musicals. Thanks again.

2018-09-19 08:08:27 UTC

Most of the videos people post around here aren't really worth watching. but that's a nice list.

2018-09-19 08:08:34 UTC

Watch the corbettreport ๐Ÿ˜›

2018-09-19 08:08:44 UTC

I don't think that ones on the list

2018-09-19 08:09:01 UTC

As far as Data & Society, I've been sending them shade longer than you've possibly known they were around in ways that you could never know.

2018-09-19 08:10:19 UTC

Its a bad news tho

2018-09-19 08:10:32 UTC

This narrative is potentially very dangerous

2018-09-19 08:10:38 UTC

Am aware.

2018-09-19 08:10:55 UTC

Fortunately only far left outlets are running it so far

2018-09-19 08:11:10 UTC

The far left outlets are where the power is though.

2018-09-19 08:11:12 UTC

The right centrist outlets are ignoring it so far

2018-09-19 08:11:27 UTC

They want to use it to attack YouTube into censoring people.

2018-09-19 08:11:33 UTC

styx did a video on it earlier today

2018-09-19 08:11:53 UTC

I think there is multiple angles

2018-09-19 08:12:13 UTC

Its less political and more economical imo

2018-09-19 08:12:39 UTC

They want to shut down independent big political youtubers

2018-09-19 08:12:59 UTC

Because they are stealing their audience

2018-09-19 08:13:27 UTC

I think their narrative was something like 'super chats allow these evil nazis to get money from views' 'somehow thats bad because the content might not be advertiser friendly' 'no super chats for them' (i skimmed it so don't sue me if its not an 100% accurate representation lol)

2018-09-19 08:13:37 UTC

"their audience" ? I wouldn't switch to them even if there was no other choice

2018-09-19 08:13:48 UTC

You

2018-09-19 08:13:58 UTC

But there are other ppl who would

2018-09-19 08:14:06 UTC

It all goes togather

2018-09-19 08:14:36 UTC

The legacy media are getting butchered

2018-09-19 08:14:37 UTC

It's alot of things. The mainstream press wants to kill the independent press for economic and power reasons.

The left wants to regain total control of the narrative again.

2018-09-19 08:14:52 UTC

They're teaming up to shut up the little people.

2018-09-19 08:15:04 UTC

The unions do something similar to the people who oppose the leadership.

2018-09-19 08:15:18 UTC

They don't care about the money.. they care about controlling the narrative.. if they cared about money they wouldn't be driving their ratings into the ground trying to manipulate the population to vote democrat

2018-09-19 08:15:43 UTC

Oh they do care about money

2018-09-19 08:16:01 UTC

Its just they made lots of wrong decisions

2018-09-19 08:16:31 UTC

Tbh the main reason political yourube is a thing is interaction of youtubers with their audience

2018-09-19 08:16:35 UTC

And each other

2018-09-19 08:17:00 UTC

Journalists could have easily do it too but were too lazy

2018-09-19 08:17:27 UTC

I think Tim even tried to tell them this and they didnt listen to him

2018-09-19 08:17:38 UTC

At the places he worked

2018-09-19 08:18:06 UTC

Ppl are more active then ever

2018-09-19 08:18:27 UTC

While the newspapers and television are mostly just passive reception

2018-09-19 08:18:48 UTC

I can see why ppl hate that in the current year

2018-09-19 08:20:17 UTC

For me the saddest thing is when joirnalist blocks discussion under his opinion piece

2018-09-19 08:20:26 UTC

And lots of them still do this

2018-09-19 08:20:41 UTC

And then are suprised ppl go somewhere else for news

2018-09-19 08:24:10 UTC

Honestly I think MSM is doomed no matter what. How can you justify paying some pundit 20 million a year when Tim Pool can do a better job than them from his house for probably 30-120k a year ( i have no idea what he makes)

2018-09-19 08:24:12 UTC

Also did you guys notice that the miss did all that research without ever contacting anyone from those youtubers ?

2018-09-19 08:24:40 UTC

Their model don't work anymore

2018-09-19 08:26:02 UTC

I was a big fan of Ben Swann around the 2012 election.. he tried to go solo but he was trying to do it like the MSM wanting like 30k per video he made and quickly found out thats not how the alternative media works. He did manage to get funded by Dash though so hes back at it again.

2018-09-19 08:26:39 UTC

There is one valid criticism tho

2018-09-19 08:26:53 UTC

Most of youtube is commentary

2018-09-19 08:27:06 UTC

Only few ppl like tim do more

2018-09-19 09:34:47 UTC

Stuff like GamerGate cost them a lot of Obama voters

2018-09-19 09:36:46 UTC

Heck I was still on the left in 2016 voting for Bernie, but I could see that the loons gaslighting me during gamergate were in control of the narrative in the primary too.

2018-09-19 09:38:05 UTC

people don't like being messed with

2018-09-19 09:38:42 UTC
2018-09-19 09:39:39 UTC

He is charismatic

2018-09-19 09:39:55 UTC

But his behaviour after brexit ref was just dumb

2018-09-19 09:40:08 UTC

Sometimes even hypocritical

2018-09-19 09:40:29 UTC

sargon does similar shit ^

2018-09-19 09:40:36 UTC

True

2018-09-19 09:41:00 UTC

He turns on his nationalistic brain when it comes to brexit

2018-09-19 09:41:20 UTC

yeah i def see that

2018-09-19 09:41:24 UTC

Just look at his stance on ni border

2018-09-19 09:41:52 UTC

He would never say that about any other country imo

2018-09-19 09:42:38 UTC

wait what do you mean ?

2018-09-19 09:43:18 UTC

He says he wants "soft border"

2018-09-19 09:43:38 UTC

Which is fantasy

2018-09-19 09:44:00 UTC

Unless you do something drastic like what eu wants or theresa may wants

2018-09-19 09:44:17 UTC

or merkel

2018-09-19 09:44:24 UTC

Yep

2018-09-19 09:44:39 UTC

you notice how much attention the EU has been getting lately or is it just me ?

2018-09-19 09:44:52 UTC

You

2018-09-19 09:45:09 UTC

Here in gb its brexit news past 2 years now

2018-09-19 09:46:36 UTC
