Well tbh guy I think a oit of parents, especially before the 90s, did it primarily as a religious thing

I know its still an bad thing but many people in abusive marriages used the same reasoning to stay together. Their church was against divorce.

But even with a complication rate of circumcision on the extreme conservative side of 2% I do not see this being a net positive like doctors claim.

It prevents those because they are conditions that can't exist without a foreskin afaik, but generally we don't tend to remove functioning parts of the human body if they dont act exactly as intended, we treat them

Obviously I'm going to agree with you being where we are, most of these conditions do not even require any antibiotics, just TLC and careful washing to resolve.

To me the 100% of boys who go through an invasive, painful surgery needs some clear HIGH numbers to justify it's continued practice. None of these afflictions are life-threatening in any way to warrant going under the knife.

I can see how it would be an upsetting thing, it would be to anyone which is why I'm so against it being done so people can avoid that pain and damage as well as the loss of sensitivity and pain as a baby and later psychological damage. I know this is done to combat penile cancer deaths but there are some factors not thought about. Like end of life quality of life concerns that cause elderly men to decline treatment, the advances we'll make in 60 years to combat cancer when then children are old enough, and the current mindset of ignoring men's health issues.
