So today's social justice movement is basically religion without god
@Indigo I'd say that Feminism is very much a secular ideology, not a religion, but I do agree that it is supplanting Christianity with something I'd call deeply immoral. Religions don't all act alike, and many don't have moral codes at all. False Piety (pretending you are morally superior) is also a major sin in Western religions - you could call it a 'toxic' form of religion, if you like. I think it mainly tends to exist inside Hollywood films, personally. But yes, we are getting way off topic. This Discord isn't really meant for religious discussion.
/u/EqualMeansEqual posted a new link in /r/MensRights Well, America, Gillette's idiotic ad may have finally turned the tide on 'toxic masculinity' - https://redd.it/akeyx8
I hate to say it, but Fox News is kinda on our side. lol
Yep, thatโs a refreshing article from a mainstream source.
I think we actually have a few news outlets on our side now. There's one in Australia that does a weekly Misandry update: https://www.spectator.com.au/author/corrine-barracloughexample-com/
Also the Telegraph in the UK. The Times is largely Feminist but they occasionally give in and print something pro MRM
Yeah, there is more incentive to publish this content now.
I think we need to try and do what @blueorange22 is doing and get letters and articles published that show we have valid issues and are actually the reasonable side of the debate.
One idea I also had was TED talks. We need to try and schedule some as soon as we can. I think Blue would be up for that.
Right.

Anyone feel this is something we should get behind?
Ooh, new zealand
Women gotta stop raping young boys
Some days I'm really glad I don't drink because stuff like that.... Urgh.
Okay. Ideas time. We need a way to raise a huge public attack on papers that use the term 'seduced' when some woman rapes a boy. Any way we can get people angry?
Does that article have a comment section?
Use social media to genderswap the news headlines when linking to it. They then see when clicking into it that its the other way around after their outrage has appropriately risen
Genderswapping would definitely be an easy way to go about it
Thatโs a good strategy
Something to also note is the language people use to defend the women who do this, the excuses they make for them
Here's one where a woman slept with her *own son* and got off without jail https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/mum-who-sexual-relations-persistent-13723101
The arguments defending her are basically "She had a rough relationship with her previous husband, be gentle with her :("
Imagine those same arguments being used to defend a man who slept with his 15 year old daughter
Thatโs disgusting!
Gender swapping is a good idea. We post the original link and make out that it is a man who did it. Use quotes as much as possible.
I've always thought the gender swapping thing would be great if a way could be found to do it where it looked like news to the lazy but was obviously generated for the attention it needs to people who care enough to look into it.
/r/Menkamph does this, but it's very hard to translate that as it makes it look like the thing people actually care about.
This shit infuriates me
Women always get a slap on the wrist
I've never seen a woman get more than five years for this
sometimes they even get community service
This is true, I wish men's rights didn't end where double standards in favor of women began
When we argue against the double standards people are so easily able to excuse it as woman hating or wanting to take rights away from women
the problem is that an entire generation has been programmed to believe women are disempowered and need their support, so there is an instant reaction to 'support' any women or women's right issue because it 'needs' that support
the same is not true of men's issues, which are barely in public awareness
I don't hold it against my friends when they immediately reject opposition to women's rights issues because they just don't understand. usually when I'm calm and explain it to them they eventually see the middle ground and understand my viewpoint
but it can take awhile to get them out of their defensive posture
its just the hill we have to face when tackling the injustice and hate present in Feminism, they've spent decades building that hill and now only have to defend it
i think its inevitable that people notice though. you cant help but see if you look
its not even that we say "womens issues dont exist", just that "hey, some of this stuff is obviously happening to..."
^ for US peeps
Is anyone here good at digital design? I'm looking to create an activist 'attack pack' of big stickers that we can slap all over cities and collages. Idea is we cover up 'male privilege posters' and stuff like that in particular. The stickers would be sold at cost, or at a loss, in order to encourage people to buy as many as possible and go nuts with them.
I want to add this to cafe press and anywhere that will have it, plus I will print off hundereds in bulk and send them out directly. If I think you'll use them well, I'll send them out free if I can.
In particular, we need a recognisable Men's Rights logo. The rest is stuff I can do myself
Hm, maybe we should brainstorm about the logo.
Probably should have the male symbol, unless we use another regognizable manly symbol
Not sure how to show "rights" but equality is simple, the equal sign
Making a good, memorable logo out of that is another story
I have a possible logo I designed, but people say it's too complicated.
The mensrights sub logo would suffice
It's simple
It could do. I've been leaning towards it.
Needs redoing though
If i saw that logo on the street I'd think its menslib.
Not mensrights
@SUCUKLU YUMURTA That's a fair point
Maybe the Men's Rights sub symbol with the words "Men's Rights" next to it, bumper sticker style
That's gotta be the worst logo I've ever seen
That's harsh, lol
Fair enough
It looks like it would be better suited for a transgender activism group. It's just missing a white background
Is there a "human" symbol? That can be merged with the men's symbols.
Redraw the poster with the sexes reversed.
What about using the stick of the male symbol as one half of the equal sign?
I'm not on my drawing computer right now, makes it harder to describe
Just use the mens rights sub one...
I don't like it at all
It looks like it's saying "semen is equal"
what with the equal sign being in the balls of the male symbol
I mean I get it, it's the "gender equality" symbol without the female symbol, but it just looks bad to me
... I doubt anyone has ever thought that before you just said it
And it's ludicrous.
Yeah, you're probably right. I mean if most people like it, my opinion isn't super relevant
I guess I just feel the point of the gender equality symbol was that the "equal" is in the center of the logo. Here it's in the bottom left
Not as obvious
Ar least don't put it in another circle. In a square it may work better
A man on Twitter tried to start a conversation about older women abusing young boys - and the response was for everyone to start bullying him and attacking him. He didn't even put it in strong terms, but he was instantly accused of 'derailing' conversations about girls being hurt by men. https://www.reddit.com/r/SupportforMen/comments/alyxmc/male_survivor_who_tried_to_start_a_conversation/
The original tweets, starting from Jan 6: https://twitter.com/suaveyoung50/status/1081716484378972160
And here we have an attempt to silence him.... by accusing him of trying to silence girls: https://twitter.com/tdouble_u/status/1081790450716065792
Notice how the attempt to shut him down got more retweets.
"it's derailment" give me a fuckin break.
Feminists: *only cares about females*
Men: "what about males?"
Feminists: reeeEeeeeEEEEEEEE
I mean, people give feminism a bad reputation
I think it's important not to overgeneralise
until feminist start recognizing the hatred and bigotry within their own ranks and start doing something about it I feel no qualms with holding the whole movement responsible for its worst parts
they have no internal checks at all, so the whole concept of 'not my feminism' is bullshit until they hold their own accountable
Feminists can't all speak for each other
no, but they can at least speak up against hatred in their own ranks
I've never seen a feminist hold another accountable for spreading hate
All or most of the feminists who wield power and infest institutions and academia are hateful
I'm willing to speak against hatred among feminists
But do you hold any power
Do you make legislation or policies
