Introduction is self explanatory. Support is for when we have no one left to turn to.
Introduction I would think is fine for the lounge..
Everyone has a moment when they break down, and not everyone has someone thatโll be there when it happens.
Introductions need to be separate to make it easier to refer to
The lounge isnโt a locked channel
Oh, you mean an introduction to men's rights? It wasn't self explanatory, I thought you meant people introducing themselves when they first come here
Thatโs what I mean
Weโre a community. Instead of having to ask someoneโs name, age, location, etc, it should be easy to find in a specific channel, like an intro.
Why would you want to lock an introduction channel
By locked I mean it serves a very specific purpose. No casual conversation
People will post there once and thatโs it
Not everyone is gonna be comfortable giving all that info
Forget it
K. I seem to have arrgravated you in some way so I apologise
Well you could do it less with info and more just a Hi, and then what you are hoping to get out of the movement or just why you are here, that way it could be easier for everyone to be on the same page ?
An intro is an intro. I couldnโt care less about what people put in it.
But it should be there in case we need it.
If someone doesnโt want to write one, oh well. We arenโt kicking them out over it.
Itโs there for people who want it
If someone were to have a breakdown, me for example, I wouldnโt want someone referring to me as Jango.
You wouldnโt want to be called Abbysol
Etc
Tbh I thought that was your real name
And I thought you where really an Insane Caterpillar ๐ฎ
I'm actually a cat. My avatars is a pic of me. Sometimes I think I'm a caterpillar cause I'm insane
See, it all makes sense now!
But in all honesty I do get what you are saying, but I think if things are that stressful you are probably better off going into DMs with someone, that little bit of privacy can help a lot if it is something that personal
Also since anyone can join the discord, it may not be that safe (though that would be in an extreme scenario, it is still a concern)
So what's your guy's opinions on #thotaudit
Itโs pointless
The irs doesnโt handle personal cases
It still begs the question
?
If sex work is real work why isn't it taxed?
A lot of things go untaxed
because it is unregulated
Doesnโt make it right
it should be regulated, it would make it safer for the sex workers too
I totally agree

According to Phillip DeFranco the types of cam girls and Snapchat girls do have to pay taxes. If they aren't keeping a track of those earnings they're going to find themselves in trouble.
Cam girls and twitch streamers probably aren't that stupid. But I wouldn't put it past the odd Snapchat girl sending nudes to college frats.
As for prostitution. It's illegal anyway. The government don't collect taxes on drug money either, unless it's laundered.
The hell. Does anyone know any more about this ^
No but it looks insane if it's accurate
Whether it's accurate or not idk but it's definitely insane the way it's portrayed... If I can find out more about it and it is, then it wouldn't be the first thing that surprised me about how backwards the world can be
The article keeps using the dichotomy of what the child does when he's with Mom or what he does when he's with Dad. Nobody has independently talked to the child on their own. Or observed him in a neutral environ
Environment
Even if that's true, the courts are telling the father things like he can't choosevhis child's clothes for him, while the mother's taken him to some specialist and worked with them to diagnose him with gender disphoria based on her word
And I don't think it is true
"Eyewitness accounts from friends corroborate dadโs observations of James preferring to be a boy.ย Bill Lovell, the senior pastor of Christ Church Carrollton,ย wrote: โBased on the three occasions Iโve spent time with him, Iโd say he acts and looks unmistakably like a healthy six-year-old boy. โฆ I am praying for James, an average six-year-old boy, a sweet-natured, intelligent, lovable and at this point particularly vulnerable young man, caught up in a titanic clash of worldviews.โ
Ellen Grigsby shared in an email her observations after meeting James and his fraternal twin brother for the first time: โThey were both โall boyโ and were having a great time. Both boys were absolutely dressed as boys and behaving as boys.โ
Sarah Scott is a family friend and mother of three boys who frequently play with James and his brother. She and her husband are sensitive to allowing James to lead the way in gender choices such as names, pronouns, and clothing. I asked her the obvious question: โHow do you know James does not want to be a girl?โย Sarah responded in an email with several examples sheโs seen of Jamesโ desire to remain a boy:
So depending on the situation I could see the use of the laws. Protecting a real transgender child from an abusive parent.
The issue comes from the family court bias against him as a father and nobody is willing to assess whether the mother is being vindictive
This is why a 3rd party evaluation should be the first go to
Without it is an explicit example of taking the mother's side over there father with no evidence other than what the mother has presented.
The issue being is I've seen that happen
I don't even get why children as young as six, *six* for the love of God are being diagnosed with gender disphoria. I mean wtf? And the courts and everyone else just goes along with it, ignoring the father for what reason? Because he exists? Would they do the same if he wasn't involved in the child's life at all? This story needs more publicity
Well the article makes it quite clear that there are strict criteria to diagnose gender dysphoria.
The problem here is the fact that there is conflicting evidence. Not whether or not the diagnoses exists in a wider context.
This is just completely ignoring the father which is A HUGE issue
You can't determine for yourself at 6 years old what gender you belong as
You literally can't
Like when I was that age, I jokingly wore my blanket as a dress and said I was a pretty girl
It was a big joke
God knows what would have happened to me if I was born today
I think it's stronger than that
But that being said I don't doubt that "progressive" parents may be too quick to jump on it
Like when you reach sexual maturity, maybe
But for Christ sakes, the kid's hormones haven't even kicked in yet
Like at least wait until 12-13
That's the point. Good or bad
And the mother plans to get him chemically castrated, he won't properly even reach sexual maturity.. and petitioned the court to have the father pay for all this much needed "therapy*"
*read: screwing your child up one session at a time
It honestly just makes me sick
Like, words can't really describe exactly how this story makes me feel
There's some basic wording you can use to write to local officials regarding this if you are in the US
@Jango Harrison Support is a great idea. I don't know why I didn't think of it because nits one of the three major things every good forum has.
@Rai Amen to that. This is her deciding to 'customise' her son. Either to hurt dad or get leverage or just because she wanted a girl and got a boy.
Truly. And the fact it's all court sanctioned and nobody that is in charge bats an eye.
Urgh. Few things in the world make me want to strangle people like a court screwing up some child's entire life. I don't rate his survival chances.
<#517296790098280448> channel made, btw
Another one for the collection.
Eye roll*
Is there any word on what the "fix" might be?
This is the problem in grouping entire demographics together in this kind of way, it canโt just let people live and let live, if your goal is the whole with no vision of the individuals, then there is something wrong, some things are just better to live and let live
sup
Hello
Ciao

I think we should all go after the BBC for this article: https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/a1f2mo/this_whole_bbc_article_is_written_as_though_men/
I don't think anyone should be able to access someone criminal history, men or women, besides police... It means that people cannot ever truly move on from bad things they have done in the past, or even have minor things held against them, including some things that may have been self defense (men are often charged if they defend themselves against women).
When someone is given a sentence and they complete that sentence they have paid their debt to society. Having something hanging over them their entire life, while also free and in society, makes it more likely they will commit more crimes. If you tell someone they are a monster, whether they actually are or not, they're more likely to act like one.
Say, does anyone remember a study where someone submitted the exact same schoolwork with different gendered names and found gender bias that way?
I think I remember that was a thing
but can't find it
Yes teaching bias. I don't have the article though.
I found a bunch of teaching bias studies (check the men-are-human channel), but that research largely points to bias against male classroom behaviors, rather than being straight up "oh, it sounds male, lets mark it down"
I suspect that most teaching bias can be explained that way
but I thought I remembered there was one study that couldn't quite be explained that way
@asparkofpyrokravte this may not be exactly what you are looking for but it's close https://www.ipp.eu/wp-content/uploads/2014/12/n14-notesIPP-december2014.pdf
Oh shit, that's a really good source
Gave you a gold star for that one. ๐
If I get 5 stars can I is have a wowwipop?
XD
