My office is.... or was... in the downtown area. When the Dalai Lama visited a few years ago (he used to come all the time due to a personal friend in the city) there was a massive amount of anti-Tibetan propaganda around town. Even an airplane with a banner doing circles in the sky. Now, with all the Covid stuff, the UW has been parroting the CCP and put out public notices of outrage at those who insinuated it had origins in China. Strangely they didn't take such a hard stance against the anti-Tibetan death threats...

Also, what do you guys think the effects of lockdown have been on the death rates?
Decrease in deaths due to traffic accidents, school shootings etc / and increases to death rates due to suicides etc
Seems like I need data on the percentage up or down as the result of lockdown in order to perform a thorough and objective analysis, but yea, fewer deaths this year as a whole than any year since at least 2000.
I canโt find any data on that anywhere on the www...Iโd even take an educated guess at this point, just to be able to factor it in.

Hey guys, just need to rant for a bit. My stupid school (Mines) has a mask policy, fine whatever. I'm sure you've heard about the half asses study by Duke that states that neck gaiters are worse than not wearing a mask at all. Cool. My school sent out an announcement about this citing this study and that neck gaiters are bad. I'm totally cool up to this point. Then they go on to say that they should not be used unless it is the only option. This is where I'm like WHAT? At an engineering STEM school you cite a study that states these are worse than no mask but you'll still force people to wear them. If this was really about public health you would out right ban them. But no, because its about conformity and control.
Sorry rant over, I just am not looking forward to going back next week with all their stupid arbitrary rules.
I feel the same way, when I go back to school i plan to go "Full American" and I am not gonna put with their mask B.S
I know my college is enforcing the mask policy in part by getting other students to snitch

Wow, for some odd reason my Dad (who has no dangerous to covid underlying conditions) for some reason I heard him breath "heavier" with the mask. This was when we looked to get those special gum looking things for posters.
What is very dumb is the gym where I work out requires us to wear a mask when weight training/lifting, but you don't have to wear one when running on the treadmill.

It's weird since I worked at a Walmart near me and I always had to wear a mask while working. When I got off of work I then took off my mask and no one said anything to me.
