That's interesting to me because I mainly focus on the construction of my own behavior

2018-09-08 22:30:33 UTC

They operate as if reality is arrived at by consensus and altering the consensus alters reality.

2018-09-08 22:30:41 UTC

Yes, it can relate to others in real time, but that doesn't mean it's composed of others

2018-09-08 22:31:01 UTC

That seems like confirmation bias or availability heuristics to me

2018-09-08 22:31:07 UTC

the thing is it is real. but its a matter of how you work with that information.

2018-09-08 22:31:13 UTC

"This is what I see, hear, and say, and so it must be"

2018-09-08 22:33:02 UTC

I agree, but I tend to view things as more of...say...individual consciousnesses interacting in a realtime stage as opposed to the conglomeration of all those being the truth

2018-09-08 22:33:23 UTC

the environment and our own personal reactions to it are still entirely valid regardless of the hivemind

2018-09-08 22:33:28 UTC

its a symbiotic relationship

2018-09-08 22:33:51 UTC

that's a good way to put it

2018-09-08 22:34:06 UTC

There's a lot to be learned from others as well as introspection

2018-09-08 22:34:12 UTC

as elon pointed out on rogan, you NEED other people to retain sanity.

2018-09-08 22:34:27 UTC

if you go live alone in the woods for 1 year. you will lose your mind

2018-09-08 22:35:06 UTC

Or you will revert to bicameralism.

Concerning Tim's video on Nike, he uses L2 as a source. I watched Galloways video last week on Nike and I didn't agree with his arguments then either. Like Tim said, reputation is more important than fleeting sales (in the long run). The loss of value to your company due to loss of reputation is incalculable

2018-09-08 22:35:28 UTC

I haven't ever spent an entire year in isolation, but after my injury I had to move into my mom and brother's place and spent close to 9 months only interacting with ppl via the internet as I was unable to walk or travel. It's incredibly taxing on the mind.

2018-09-08 22:35:30 UTC

You will argue with yourself aloud.

2018-09-08 22:35:46 UTC

oh my god, yes @Atkins

2018-09-08 22:35:55 UTC

And then, out loud, I scold myself

2018-09-08 22:36:23 UTC

Nike should just lease Chinese slaves

2018-09-08 22:36:25 UTC

I always argue with myself, but not aloud cuz i'm a mute ๐Ÿ˜›

2018-09-08 22:36:34 UTC

That may have been the typical mode of consciousness as recent as a thousand years ago.

2018-09-08 22:36:59 UTC

It is very uncommon to find ancient text of any culture or language written in first person.

2018-09-08 22:37:16 UTC

I believe people are questioning me

2018-09-08 22:37:27 UTC

I typically speak to myself in thought

2018-09-08 22:37:31 UTC

interesting point @Atkins

2018-09-08 22:37:39 UTC

until like 5 years ago

it was uncommon for people t take pictures of their own face everywhere ๐Ÿ˜›

2018-09-08 22:37:41 UTC

So people either think Iโ€™m psycho, weird, or Iโ€™m just too smart

2018-09-08 22:37:51 UTC

No it was

2018-09-08 22:38:02 UTC

That's fascinating about the ancient texts

2018-09-08 22:38:04 UTC

chances are they are just basic bitches and you go over their head

2018-09-08 22:38:19 UTC

Ever since portable cameras were made and sold cheap people have photographed their faces

2018-09-08 22:38:36 UTC

yes, but not 20-30 of the exact same place

2018-09-08 22:38:41 UTC

I used to take pics of myself with a film camera when I was a small child, I had my own polaroid too

2018-09-08 22:38:46 UTC

Yes well thatโ€™s a problem

2018-09-08 22:38:57 UTC

i mean lets be honest

2018-09-08 22:39:04 UTC

how would you feel if you opened someone photo album in their home

2018-09-08 22:39:10 UTC

Iโ€™ve never touched a Polaroid camera

2018-09-08 22:39:10 UTC

and its just filled with pictures of their own face ๐Ÿ˜›

2018-09-08 22:39:12 UTC

close up

2018-09-08 22:39:18 UTC

lol
