Ever done a bunch of drugs and had an out-of-body experience?
I am a recovering addict so I have had a couple of those
Some people might feel like that all the time.
I know it's you Rogan, no need to hide
lol
particularly relating to research chems (2C__) and Dextromethorphan
And that doesn't mean they're unconscious or not having subjective experience.
At the time it's occurring it's 100% real (to me at least)
buddy system is hamilton morris
I did a bunch of DMT and got scared I was actually making myself stupid so I stopped.
heh, nah
ive only really done shrooms a bunch
I overdosed on weed
it was awesome
and its more of a unlocking of the mental floodgates for me
I'm a chronic pain sufferer so I've made some...not too great decisions when my care was being inadequately handled
That being said, Atkins I am sorta trying to go back and get a feel for what the discussion is about
I have a pet theory that people with different modes of consciousness than the one I experience are more susceptible to post-modernism.
The concept of "social construction" is a very, very real thing to them.
That's interesting to me because I mainly focus on the construction of my own behavior
They operate as if reality is arrived at by consensus and altering the consensus alters reality.
Yes, it can relate to others in real time, but that doesn't mean it's composed of others
That seems like confirmation bias or availability heuristics to me
the thing is it is real. but its a matter of how you work with that information.
"This is what I see, hear, and say, and so it must be"
I agree, but I tend to view things as more of...say...individual consciousnesses interacting in a realtime stage as opposed to the conglomeration of all those being the truth
the environment and our own personal reactions to it are still entirely valid regardless of the hivemind
its a symbiotic relationship
that's a good way to put it
There's a lot to be learned from others as well as introspection
as elon pointed out on rogan, you NEED other people to retain sanity.
if you go live alone in the woods for 1 year. you will lose your mind
Or you will revert to bicameralism.
Concerning Tim's video on Nike, he uses L2 as a source. I watched Galloways video last week on Nike and I didn't agree with his arguments then either. Like Tim said, reputation is more important than fleeting sales (in the long run). The loss of value to your company due to loss of reputation is incalculable
I haven't ever spent an entire year in isolation, but after my injury I had to move into my mom and brother's place and spent close to 9 months only interacting with ppl via the internet as I was unable to walk or travel. It's incredibly taxing on the mind.
You will argue with yourself aloud.
oh my god, yes @Atkins
