People always looking at the military like it's there to do something for you.
It's not a jobs program.
The good of the country is for millennials to stop being weak.
And I'm pretty sure that if you take someone an enslave them and force them to fight they're going to resent you.
Did Vietnam teach people discipline and patriotism?
Or did it have constant fucking riots and end up giving us the dipshits we have running the show today.
By 'people' do you mean everyone or two or more persons?
You are coming from the perspective that it isn’t the norm so sure you may resent it. Here everyone is conscripted so people aren’t as opposed to the idea.
How many wars have you fought recently?
One.
That I was in.
But there were a bunch.
Welp, guess we'll have to agree to disagree.
What country do you live in, CreativeRealms?
Israel.
Ah, ok.
We have a saying here: “The people build the army and the army builds the nation”. I find it to be very accurate.
I guess the difference might be Israel constantly fighting defensive wars vs the US constantly fighting overseas wars.
If the US ever had to fight a defensive war the entire world is in for some bad shit.
Maybe that's the solution for America then. We just both Canada and Mexio to invade us.
I'd prefer just having a powerful all-volunteer force.
No one being forced to do something they haven't agreed to out of their own free will.
I'm just waiting for the alien invasions so I can join the Earth Defense Force.
I wonder if the draft would fix black crime rates. It’s mainly people from single parent households who don’t have an authority figure in their lives that become criminals. Army could be a good substitute.
I doubt they'll show up anytime soon.
Let me dream
whoa wtf, yall talking about war stuff without me
Dream on. I won't stop you.
jesus, this is the fastest discord server i ever been in
Now it's quiet.
If the US had a draft they could do something where everyone gets drafted but you only go into combat if you sign up for it. Everyone else is logistics and other services. There are probably more than enough people who would volunteer for combat that it wouldn’t need to be mandatory.
>not joining the Space Force
Fight ayy lmaos for Israel
I don't think a draft would be politically viable unless there was an actual defensive war. Vietnam turned a lot of people againt the draft in principle.
Most draftees would be working on American soil.
Overseas people would probably be the ones volunteering for it.
I don't disagree. I just don't see it as something that would get politicans thrown out of office for supporting it.
I don't see it going through is what I'm saying.
