endangered species.

2018-09-14 00:19:58 UTC

Schools: we need to ban recess because they need to learn more
Also schools: kids are not sitting still as well as they used to

2018-09-14 00:20:01 UTC

we wouldn't be able to

2018-09-14 00:20:46 UTC

we can't even treat women the same as men.

2018-09-14 00:21:00 UTC

well, we shouldn't, that's my point.

2018-09-14 00:21:07 UTC

I agree

2018-09-14 00:21:14 UTC

there are differences and that should be accepted and then we can go from there.

2018-09-14 00:21:21 UTC

agreed

2018-09-14 00:21:30 UTC

"kids don't pay attention in school, they must have a disorder"
"Or they are fucking kids and have never, in the history of the human race, sat still longer than 5 minutes and you expect them to do that for hours on end"

2018-09-14 00:21:57 UTC

but unfortunately the "mainstream" message is to do just that...while promoting things that do the exact opposite

2018-09-14 00:22:12 UTC

Yes, it's bullshit and I call it out when i see it.

2018-09-14 00:22:29 UTC

I'm glad. I feel like many here would

2018-09-14 00:22:36 UTC

I do when I can

2018-09-14 00:23:04 UTC

sadly though...it's an unpopular opinion and can at times negatively affect jobs/etc

2018-09-14 00:23:24 UTC

so...it has to be done in the "correct" way

2018-09-14 00:23:27 UTC

not sure it's an unpopular one, it's just not a politcally correct one

2018-09-14 00:24:09 UTC

thankfully i am not a politician

2018-09-14 00:25:01 UTC

it's not a mainstream one

2018-09-14 00:25:36 UTC

who's mainstream?

2018-09-14 00:25:47 UTC

if the mainstream isn't the popular opinion is it really the mainstream?

2018-09-14 00:26:08 UTC

I think it can be brought up in conversation...but in some cases...unless it is brought up in a certain way...the people you are talking to will only hear the talking points they hear on X show

2018-09-14 00:26:56 UTC

some people are unreasonable, that's nothing new.

2018-09-14 00:27:16 UTC

do you really have conversations with those people?

2018-09-14 00:27:21 UTC

"mainstream" news has a way of making extreme views seem less extreme to people that don't spend time online/research things for themselves

2018-09-14 00:27:26 UTC

I do

2018-09-14 00:27:44 UTC

I don't. Not in person.

2018-09-14 00:27:48 UTC

and generally we agree in the end

2018-09-14 00:27:50 UTC

online all the time.

2018-09-14 00:27:53 UTC

in person

2018-09-14 00:27:54 UTC

it's kinda weird.

2018-09-14 00:28:04 UTC

online....it never appears to get to that point

2018-09-14 00:28:19 UTC

it's not necessarily something I bring up

2018-09-14 00:28:22 UTC

i think people online are more interested in winning, in person there is no audience to win.

2018-09-14 00:28:40 UTC

but if someone else brings up something that they heard on the news that pisses them off

2018-09-14 00:29:01 UTC

if I'm familiar with the story and know a different side...I will add my input

2018-09-14 00:29:39 UTC

and generally, depending on the topic, make them understand what seems to really be going on

2018-09-14 00:30:01 UTC

true

2018-09-14 00:32:25 UTC

people online will often not listen and just regurgitate talking points so that other people "like" what they say. In person, they can actually listen

2018-09-14 00:32:42 UTC

unless that in person part happens at stuff like rally's

2018-09-14 00:32:54 UTC

but...I've never gone to them

2018-09-14 00:32:54 UTC

Sure.
