They won't vote for Kavanaugh if there is a chance he could get denied.
But they'll go along if he's going to pass.
Maybe they can cancel out Collins and Murkowski and Flake.
Because they're in Red states and trying not to look like an enemy of Trump.
I severely doubt any dems will break ranks.

Voting against Kavanaugh has to be worth at least 10% in the polls for these Dems up for re-election in red states.
The Dems have a great deal of control of their legislators due to the way the party is structured.

The Dems might let it fly if they realize they've otherwise lost though.

Manchin could've/should've switched a long time ago.
Bear in mind it's only another month or so before the election.
Yeah, most o WV lawmakers did a couple years ago.
Went from deep blue to deep red overnight.
Manchin seems to be the only WV politician who doesn't know that WV is redder than Utah.
Of course Manchin did just say he'd vote for Kavanaugh.
Who knows.
But if he breaks ranks and gets Kavanaugh confirmed, it would be huge.
It would've make any sense for WV to elect a Dem.
And he'd almost certainly be forced to swap parties.
The Dems would bring **pain**
His party switch seems unavoidable.

I think the unions would need to change sides about that time.
Which I think is actually possible.
That's why I ask why WV voters would want to share any of that pain inflicted on Manchin.
