It is less lethal than SARS as a percentage. I agree that these restrictions are utterly terrifying and must have an end date, but right now? They’re useful to stop people from all at once getting it and to stop the healthcare systems from getting overwhelmed.

Our freedoms must be fought back if they are taken away permanently, but people are too terrified of losing further elections to hold on to them. The reason the Bush administration (and Obama) kept onto their mass surveillance is because it was classified, this is not and so there will be a hell of a lot of pressure put on governments to relinquish their power.

CFR is lower than SARS if you want to believe in China's numbers lol. The CFR is nightmarish for Italy, Spain, etc. Also the R0 is far higher than SARS, so ppl comparing them together are purposefully obfuscating the reality of the situation. Even if we took the CFR for SARS to be higher, it's already killed a lot more ppl within a month than all of SARS' entire lifetime.

It's killing more people every day than have died of SARS and MERS combined.

And that is lab confirmed, not even talking about the guys who are not lab confirmed, or who died of other causes because they can't or won't see a doctor right now.

Plus everyone who will die because of the crashing economy.

@Cassiopeia I suggest that these restrictions become subject to public trial. They have to prove through refurendum to keep them. Every quarter there's a check point, if there's even a slight disagreement powers are removed. We have to ensure that these tyrants don't run away with our freedoms after this is over or worse claim that it's never going to be over
