I'm talking about politics though. I know how to make friends based on hobbies
I have to admit that I don't have much friends from uni days, except from my unit members
Like I met a group of people to play D&D and I bailed once they started spouting gender ideology into their gameplay
since you are allowed to receive military training while attending university in Indonesia
I made some pals on niche facebook groups, mostly autistic gamers
my people
I made friends from all walk of life
I'm also a huge introvert, can't stand going to any sort of event unless I believe I'll get something out of it
I'm an introvert as well, but eh.... I try to manage a social life because I find it to be useful for life
having a more, pragmatic approach had been rather beneficial
im too lazy for that, despite my wholy family constantly complaining about getting myself a smartphone, keep telling them to just call me on my phone
I have friends and stuff, that's not what I'm worried about
try to get more "influential" friends
I'm worried about how I fit in with politics. What I said earlier, Tim's video on antifa in Portland made me incredibly angry. What happens if I encounter something like that. I know that's kind of an extreme example but I'm always worried about getting caught in the crossfire of some far left dogma
improvise. adapt. overcome.
That doesn't tell me anything though
analyze the local situation
All I know how to do is to not get involved
know the probablity of the situation to happen in your local area
avoid any crossfire
Then I should just drop out of school then? I have to draw the line somewhere
no?
You said avoid all crossfire
is your school a politically hostile environment?
I'm too afraid to test it
To be honest
But I doubt it
It's a tiny bubble of far left ideology in a republican rust belt town
in Indonesia, any practical politics is banned on academic grounds
and people had been expelled for it
They try to make everything about politics
Well whilst i dont have any experience with these schools nor am i american, i would suspect you would know something was up because personal politics is literally their identity from what ive seen.
And they cant stop talking about it
It feels that way anyway. Not a good sign when your professors tell you they're ashamed to live in 2018 America because they think it's embarrassing. They're not wrong though, the far left idiots are the embarrassment
yeah
It's hilarious
probably a result of the lack of party diversity in america
at least, on a national level
well where i live its not any better and we got plenty of parties
Last year, I saw flyers up about a Republican Party club on campus
Sure we dont have ppl on the streets rioting or anything
