It seems like no reservation in the US has adapted well to modernity.

The other problem, as Thomas Sowell fairly regularly recounts, is that when a recognizable community/nation is aware of itself, and the nation feels threatened, typically the people who step up to be cultural leaders have the worst ideas for that nation.
