I'm tempted to the Greek bible and learn

2020-03-11 20:52:26 UTC

Learn Greek?

2020-03-11 20:52:30 UTC

Ight say less

2020-03-11 20:53:05 UTC

Ancient Greek, it would be untampered. Alot of the issues you will find in the Bible comes out of them adding numbers and chapters.

2020-03-11 20:53:49 UTC

Pretty sure you can still get Bibles without numbers and chapters yea?

2020-03-11 20:55:19 UTC

I’m confused at the adding language that wasn’t there. I do agree certain translations are lacking, but that can be due to the society’s vocabulary being different and not having the correct words in translation. I had a study Bible in the JKV that would go into better detail at the original wording in Hebrew and show what the translation is supposed to say

Yes but how many times has it been copied by man and like a game of telephone things get lost and some of the early stories where transferred you mouth before ending on any kind of paper, it’s the fallacy of man, also why are there 3 different religions that fundamentally worship the same God just with slightly different views but very similar customs. I think every religious book has some of the correct info I just can not believe it all 100% correct or edited.. especially after the Catholics took control. They have some of the oldest written script and possibly the spear that pierced Jesus‘s heart hidden 30ft underground. We will just never know until we die.

2020-03-11 21:03:00 UTC

The spear never pierced his heart

2020-03-11 21:03:09 UTC

Just his ribcage

2020-03-11 21:03:46 UTC

But if your problem is they were transferred by voice for decades before being written....the old testament would be more subject to that problem than the new.

2020-03-11 21:04:41 UTC

So with every archeological discovery pertaining to the Bible, it has only affirmed the accounts that were written down. And I believe that the writers were ordained by God to relay his message. Meaning that he would’ve given them the tools to be accurate

2020-03-11 21:05:02 UTC

^^

2020-03-11 21:06:07 UTC

I agree but I think the the Catholic Church edited the the heck out of the Bible, that the one reason why I think the old testament is way more accurate. It wasn’t fudge around with as much.

2020-03-11 21:06:27 UTC

They did....that's why I read versions they don't like.

2020-03-11 21:07:04 UTC

Honestly they didn’t need to. Being the only ones that could read it, they could and did say whatever they wanted

2020-03-11 21:07:42 UTC

@O/K/ie Voluntaryist what do you consider the most accurate translation? I’ve always been partial to the KJV

2020-03-11 21:08:07 UTC

KJV.....and of course the original translations are great

2020-03-11 21:08:16 UTC

Original meaning Hebrew and greek

2020-03-11 21:08:47 UTC

Yeah. But both of them are.... Greek to me

2020-03-11 21:13:30 UTC

I’m sure they’d think the same about English

2020-03-11 21:13:46 UTC

Damn the Tower of Babel 😆

2020-03-11 21:13:51 UTC

Well...they would recognize we are based on greek

2020-03-11 21:13:53 UTC

And latin

2020-03-11 21:14:27 UTC

A lot closer to Latin with the alphabet though

2020-03-11 21:14:50 UTC

Definitely.....they could learn it easily if they knew latin or greek

2020-03-11 21:22:21 UTC

Arabic is really hard to, I tried learn so of them written and basic language since it becoming one of the most popular languages- Mandarin was much easier

2020-03-11 21:22:34 UTC

Arabic and Hebrew are very closely related

2020-03-11 21:23:33 UTC

Arabic is the spoken language of ancient israel

2020-03-11 21:23:52 UTC

Well Aramaic

2020-03-11 21:28:07 UTC

From what I was told Arabic and Hebrew are kind of more of a dialect difference verbally but the written alphabet is different.

2020-03-11 21:28:30 UTC

Hebrew is solely a written language

2020-03-11 21:32:43 UTC

Maybe i understood it incorrectly, but the way he explained it there was a dialect that was pretty much modern Arabic but it has different undertones- like southern vs Irish - idk I dropped that class because I suck at foreign languages lmao.

2020-03-11 21:33:13 UTC

Lol same
