i agree with jerm, australia for example has been on a 100 year cycle of crippling drought and flooding rain for as long as humans have existed on the continent (which scholars suggest is anywhere form 40-80 thousand years) nothing has changed, we've just entered the flood cycle which should last for 2-8 years and then we will enter another drought cycle which can last from 4-12 years
