and when they talk about the need for harsher sentences it is absolutely useless since the judges only give out low sentences, or suspended ones, because prisons are quite close to 3 star hotels and thus jailing people is too expensive
or, like some like to think, the judges and politicians themselves have dabbled in such things and want to set the trend as low as possible in case they get caught themselves

nah we've always had a huge communist, or at least socialist, problem ever since before our independence
they tried to overthrow the legal government and failed but despite this the winners played it soft and didn't get into the traditional murdering of failed revolutionaries afterwards
i mean sure some died in prison camps after but that was mostly due to famine and mismanagement of the camps, not so much intentional murder
