This is a virus which we have NO treatment for and no vaccine for.
we had no treatment or vaccine for h1n1 til about... 2011? or was it even 2014?
yes the death rate is probably somewhere in the ball park of .6-1% but still it's way worse than flu and we have no idea how much worse it's likely to get.
you're on a losing ticket here, wacka, whatever happens now - the government missed the opportunity to reduce the risk to it's citizens by not being more pro-active at the bordre
nothing you have said, nothing you have linked to does anything to change that
the death rate will sky rocket when health care systems will be at capacity or over flowing
well even when this is all over, there will still be no way to tell whether the govs actions will have helped or hindered
We can look at other countries that have done something
nope
they acted very early
its to late for the us uk and australia
the virus will spread like wild fire
depends when you look at those countries... if we look after wave 2 it might be a very different story
I don't know about that.
Id agree with JC.. but not yet... theres only a thousand cases
i don't agree with JC in this, either
thats only detected cases in the uk
its likely much higher
could be
it's likely WAY higher even by boris' own estimates
10,000 cases are likely to exist already.
but the cases not confirmed... are probably not using NHS beds..
what right does the NHS have to private healthcare beds?
sure but thats not what we're talking about here... we're talking about the need for beds
the health care system will become overflowed give it few weeks to a moth and the uk will be similar to italy
yes but by the time we are close to capacity they have already infected a ton more people to the point where we are unable to deal with it @wacka
and i genuinely hope i am wrong
If they want access to private healthcare beds, they either need to buy access to them, or declare a state of national emergency and appropriate them with appropriate laws
did you not see bucket guy....
as you are at capacity, you also have people coming out of the NHS
which is why you quarantine at 90-95%
which actually... they havent really given any figures on... that would probably actually be helpful...
i.e "if 200,000 ppl get hospitalised with wuhanV then we are near cap, so quarantine is in effect"
I just wish we had much wider testing
chan4 said something about a 10minute tester that they are dishing out next week
it's way less than 200k
