no... that wouldnt flatten the curve
and the gov is not trying to get people infected
what are they trying to do exactly?
theyre trying to manage it so that when people eventually do get it, theres enough people coming out of the NHS as there are coming in
"flattening the curve"
> and the gov is not trying to get people infected
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/coronavirus-herd-immunity-uk-nhs-outbreak-pandemic-government-a9399101.html
so basically balancing out minor symptoms & recoveries with severe symptoms
see simulation 3 and 4 https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2020/world/corona-simulator/
That's The Independent
yes, yes, i get it. but i'm not onboard with deliberate infection, that's absurd.
the independent has already been debunked on that
Known for clickbait
literally... the gov response is "herd immunity is not part of any plan"
independent just trying to bait a libel suit at this point
So the herd immunity is fake news?
yes, literally fake
in fact... the exact opposite of what the gov released

>Sir Patrick John Thompson Vallance FRS FMedSci FRCP is a British medical doctor. Since March 2018 he has been the Chief Scientific Adviser to the Government of the United Kingdom.
>Sir Patrick Vallance told ITV News that ideally 60% of the UK would become infected to ensure we were "all a bit protected".
>Sir Patrick said the advice the Government is following is not looking to suppress the disease entirely but to help create a "herd immunity in the UK" while protecting the most vulnerable from Covid-19, warning "this is not a short term outbreak, this is going to go on for months."
how is it fake news
yes, but the fact that the chief adviser said that, is not fake news
maybe it's not the gov's policy
lol at the dramatic music on the Independent's spin piece
That clip of him addressing the 60% figure is obviously taken out of context
they should definitely get their shit straight though
if their chief adviser is saying that to major news outlets
and then they deny it
It's not just the independent saying that though
He was talking about herd immunity, that isn't the same as saying it's part of the plan
the chief advisor can say what he wants... that doesnt mean it will be implemented... matt's job is to take the advice from all of the top specialists in every area, virology, pandemic, economical, medical and then make a decision based on all of it
Media are just overblowing shit as per
> Sir Patrick said the advice the Government is following is not looking to suppress the disease entirely but to help create a "herd immunity in the UK"
hello
Ban the 'free' press
ITV
Who's Sir Patrick
THE UK'S CHIEF MED ADVISER
