"In Valencia mobile phones are tracked to control mobility during the state of alarm
Mar 24, 2020
It is a pilot project that the government has launched, **for the moment** in the Valencian Community. It does it in collaboration with the operators and it is a strategy that has already been applied in other countries such as South Korea, or Italy."

@Crafty This study tested masks heated to between 80C and 120C, no masks seem to have a performance difference until 100C or over so masks can put up with a decent bit of heat without damage.

I can confirm 3M masks hold up just fine with this. My oven does not go below ~75C so I ended up heating it up to that and mask came out intact, elastic and all.
From what I was able to dig up coronaviruses denature by 60C so even going to 70 isn't strictly needed.
good to know
kinda surprised tbh, lots of plastic
and stuff i figured would melt
Most plastics are pretty high temp, a lot will handle boiling and hotter no problem.
The elastic was also the one thing I was worried about but it seemed just as good as before I put it in.
My mask was valved and that didn't seem hurt by the heat either.
Some people aren't good at math, like me. But even I agree with the dude here...

That study you linked is fantastic, it finally is something I can show off to the idiots saying "hurr, just soak it in alcohol/lysol".
almost a thousand a day guys, lets keep it going
I forgot to point another cool thing out in the study about reusing masks, they also note that almost literally anything helps as a face mask.

Yep, that's the one.
Seeing as we don't have the 3.5 billion recommended masks in the US to deal with this and we won't be getting enough any time soon homemade masks or sterilizing and reusing existing good masks are our best bet.
