With the Republicans wanting a system centered solely around private insurance, Moderate Democrats wanting a public/private split and Progressive Democrats wanting only a public system

Now, I can see how handing out death sentences for impopular opinions might be abused

But the principle shouldn't be that you're forced to agree with one particular ideology and get killed if you do not.

The principle should be that you get killed if you agree with a PARTICULAR ideology, whereas all the others are okay to agree with

Basically, scrub the public debate clean of all socialism, on pain of death.

Let's keep in mind, Fascism is only socialist in some economic aspects
