Well we also have to come to terms with the fact that immortality is ultimately undesirable, and I think anyone who lives long enough will eventually desire release from life.
I realize that
But I can just off myself
On my terms
Not because time is up
I think 100-200 years would be an optimal timespan for a human.
Perhaps
Or not
Will see
I have a reason to seek immortality
I assume anyone can find a reason to be immortal
I don't want to amass wealth or some stuff
I just want to watch
To see what people come up with
Progress
I get that, you want to see how it plays out
Yes
I always liked history
And I want to observe the now
And also help science for a long time
I am just 15.5
Young as hell
I had an almost exact desire that you had around that age, not like I am too much older, I'm 20.
Why did you lose it?
Or do you retain it
everyone as a teen wants immortality, after a while you realize that it sucks cause u will never age while everyone around you gets older
I didn't necessarily deny it so much as came to terms that I do not need to be conscious to participate in the future. As long as I leave an impact in the present there will be others who will perpetuate my presence in the future.
not to mention that u can be tortured for all of eternity
I realised the problem of immortality when I understood that my parents would die
when I was like 10
People who yearn for immortality in life need not know about death.
Tolkien explains the flaw of immortality through his depiction of Elves. Their love for the world and their long lives eventually causes them too much grief and they have to escape from.
and in order for immortality to be enjoyed it has to be paired with a bunch of other traits
Quite a nice little proverb style comment from your boy huh
not eternal youth
shapeshifting
Why
its going to suck if u look like you're 20 while you are supposed to be 60
