I am slowly phasing out my modern wardrobe for the feudal one.
So Stew, Hal, the 3 of us need to make a group chat where discuss pagan shit because I’d love to learn it too
Good cotton, good wool
The shirt I am wearing there is part of my Confederate Soldier historical outfits.
CSA hours.
I have a generals uniform and a soldiers uniform of the Confederacy.
Must be extremely hot when you wear it
I wish I could just let you have a voice chat with the narrator of Mimir's Brunnr, as he is extremely well versed in paganism, the history, the religious and spiritual things and so much more
But alas
I sweat like a hog in the humid heat, but it is fun.
A little suffering to look well and good is acceptable
Hogs don't sweat
*Ok Einstein*
Getting real hardcore into having an historical wardrobe.
That's one epic picture right there
Life is meant to be enjoyed after all, the more effort poured into it the more happy you are.
Happiness however isn’t everything.
I only have a rough tunic sewn by my grandmother, which is at my mother's place somewhere. It was made in accordance to how some of the archeological findings were on some jutland stuff. And soon I'll have some handcrafted pendants with beads and what not to really put together the chieftain look
I agree
You make your own happiness, but it's also not wise to make so much you drown in it
Or something
I’m not after to look like a noble or a chieftain. Just a meager peasant, most will argue that’s “basic lack of ambition”, but not everyone is nobility or a leader. I enjoy the serf life.
It’s simple. It’s easy. It’s happiness.
"depending on the dose, everything can be poison"
- paraphrasing Paracelsus/Theophrastus Bombast von Hohenheim
Yeah same
The pendant however I had no say in. The guy who's crafting it makes it as a gift
If you ever could assist in helping me fulfill my wardrobe change I’ll pay you USD. As naturally some good Viking danish type clothing is not going to be available for purchase on this continent.
Genuine reproductions that aren’t going to break my weekly budget at least.
This is the pendant. Amber and garnet, with two bronze hammers, two bronze axes and a larger bronze hammer. It symbolizes how the axe turned into a hammer in pagan symbolism and the amber my homeland and the garnet was his choice. It's pretty extravagant, but neat
The patina is also very dark, and I asked if it could be polished to be lighter to show more of a bronze shine, so I suppose I will see how it looks when that has been done
Such a pretty thing though
Looks magnificent!
I can't sew, and my grandmother is nearing an age where I don't think she'll be able to do it anymore
And yeah, I can't wait to get it
I should have learned from my own grandmother in my childhood but alas, she died of Alzheimer’s and I was no longer a child. It’s a missed opportunity.
All the older generations here I don’t think are willing to educate in sewing, seamstresses are hard to come by nowadays.
