2019-10-08 02:27:41 UTC

I am slowly phasing out my modern wardrobe for the feudal one.

2019-10-08 02:27:46 UTC

So Stew, Hal, the 3 of us need to make a group chat where discuss pagan shit because I’d love to learn it too

2019-10-08 02:27:56 UTC

Good cotton, good wool

2019-10-08 02:28:01 UTC

The shirt I am wearing there is part of my Confederate Soldier historical outfits.

2019-10-08 02:28:05 UTC

CSA hours.

2019-10-08 02:28:49 UTC

I have a generals uniform and a soldiers uniform of the Confederacy.

2019-10-08 02:29:00 UTC

Must be extremely hot when you wear it

2019-10-08 02:29:00 UTC

I wish I could just let you have a voice chat with the narrator of Mimir's Brunnr, as he is extremely well versed in paganism, the history, the religious and spiritual things and so much more

2019-10-08 02:29:10 UTC

But alas

2019-10-08 02:29:22 UTC

I sweat like a hog in the humid heat, but it is fun.

2019-10-08 02:29:51 UTC

A little suffering to look well and good is acceptable

2019-10-08 02:29:59 UTC

Hogs don't sweat

2019-10-08 02:30:09 UTC

*Ok Einstein*

2019-10-08 02:30:49 UTC

This is the feudal larp goal. @Deleted User

Getting real hardcore into having an historical wardrobe.

2019-10-08 02:31:22 UTC

That's one epic picture right there

2019-10-08 02:31:39 UTC

Welsh archers.

Life is meant to be enjoyed after all, the more effort poured into it the more happy you are.

2019-10-08 02:32:44 UTC

Happiness however isn’t everything.

2019-10-08 02:33:12 UTC

I only have a rough tunic sewn by my grandmother, which is at my mother's place somewhere. It was made in accordance to how some of the archeological findings were on some jutland stuff. And soon I'll have some handcrafted pendants with beads and what not to really put together the chieftain look

2019-10-08 02:33:26 UTC

I agree

2019-10-08 02:34:08 UTC

You make your own happiness, but it's also not wise to make so much you drown in it

2019-10-08 02:34:10 UTC

Or something

2019-10-08 02:34:49 UTC

I’m not after to look like a noble or a chieftain. Just a meager peasant, most will argue that’s “basic lack of ambition”, but not everyone is nobility or a leader. I enjoy the serf life.

2019-10-08 02:34:59 UTC

It’s simple. It’s easy. It’s happiness.

2019-10-08 02:35:05 UTC

"depending on the dose, everything can be poison"
- paraphrasing Paracelsus/Theophrastus Bombast von Hohenheim

2019-10-08 02:35:28 UTC

Yeah same

2019-10-08 02:35:43 UTC

The pendant however I had no say in. The guy who's crafting it makes it as a gift

2019-10-08 02:36:33 UTC

If you ever could assist in helping me fulfill my wardrobe change I’ll pay you USD. As naturally some good Viking danish type clothing is not going to be available for purchase on this continent.

2019-10-08 02:37:18 UTC

Genuine reproductions that aren’t going to break my weekly budget at least.

2019-10-08 02:37:59 UTC

This is the pendant. Amber and garnet, with two bronze hammers, two bronze axes and a larger bronze hammer. It symbolizes how the axe turned into a hammer in pagan symbolism and the amber my homeland and the garnet was his choice. It's pretty extravagant, but neat

2019-10-08 02:38:39 UTC

The patina is also very dark, and I asked if it could be polished to be lighter to show more of a bronze shine, so I suppose I will see how it looks when that has been done

2019-10-08 02:38:45 UTC

Such a pretty thing though

2019-10-08 02:39:21 UTC

Looks magnificent!

2019-10-08 02:39:24 UTC

I can't sew, and my grandmother is nearing an age where I don't think she'll be able to do it anymore

2019-10-08 02:39:37 UTC

And yeah, I can't wait to get it

2019-10-08 02:40:16 UTC

I should have learned from my own grandmother in my childhood but alas, she died of Alzheimer’s and I was no longer a child. It’s a missed opportunity.

2019-10-08 02:42:10 UTC

All the older generations here I don’t think are willing to educate in sewing, seamstresses are hard to come by nowadays.
