Religion shouldn't be a major
Change my mind
*you need to learn history to not repeat the past*
Yes
religion is a major component of understanding history
That's why history is important
But focusing on religion only
Nah
Miss me with that
There is private religious schools here in United States.
It is privately funded.
Both religion and politics should be privately funded schools.
I want to take them out of public schools.
Philosophy should stay a major
It should encompass religious studies
let's try to keep philosophy and religion somewhat separate
Uh...
How?
I took a class called Death Across Cultures which focused on how different cultures honored or dealt with death
Japan my dood
Philosophy and religion shouldn't intersect
To focus on Christian studies for example is like having a fraction of a philosophy degree
You shouldn't be able to borrow my tax dollars to go major in religion.
^
Philosophy is literally the concept of how the world does and should work; it’s inherently multidisciplinary and nothing should be excluded from understanding it
philosophy encompasses religion
Not intersects
Philosophy is originally all sciences
Yes
It became more about theoretical speculation
And it branched out
It became pondering about spiritualist nonsense
Not nonsense
thats why I don't like it that much
philosophy and religion may overlap each other, it doesn't not mean one encompasses the other
Not entirely nonsense ***
Religion is a tricky thing to teach.... because SOMEONE will get their panties in a bunch that THEIR religion wasn't taught (or taught right)
I need to do homework so I can’t get into this
Philosophy of religion literally encompasses religion.
For example I was a staunch atheist before I learned about Socrates and Descartes
