mr patreon

2018-12-08 23:01:28 UTC

Looks like a beta male

2018-12-08 23:01:38 UTC

he talks like one too

2018-12-08 23:02:00 UTC

As does Twitter's Jack does and sounds like from his bullshit with Congress

2018-12-08 23:02:17 UTC

What is Conte, 30something?

2018-12-08 23:02:41 UTC

so...
Patreon does not respond to sargon about his removal
but *does* respond to interested randos?

2018-12-08 23:02:57 UTC

Doesn't make sense

2018-12-08 23:03:12 UTC

I like to refer to problem at web 2.0 companies as
"adolescent management"

2018-12-08 23:04:21 UTC

it's probably worth the time to document the tremendous gap between the public and private policies and narratives at these companies

2018-12-08 23:07:01 UTC

that's odd - it seems sargon's concern is that the CEO did not respond to him
but the "trust and safety team" did
... much, much less compelling

2018-12-08 23:07:57 UTC

Sargon’s video goes over it

2018-12-08 23:10:42 UTC

His concern is that the rules of patreon and what Jack has said explicitly state that their guidelines only cover things that happen on patreon or are funded by patreon

2018-12-08 23:11:21 UTC

I've watched about half of it

2018-12-08 23:11:46 UTC

people don't seem to understand how the legal landscape has shifted for platforms in the US recently

2018-12-08 23:12:05 UTC

yup, isntead of goverment tyranny, we're facing corporate tyranny

2018-12-08 23:12:07 UTC

less than a year ago, all platforms wanted to be neutral

2018-12-08 23:12:21 UTC

<:NPC:500042527231967262> <:VeRiFiEd:463064374236413962>

2018-12-08 23:12:44 UTC

the reason they wanted to be neutral was that communications decency act immunity (s 230, CDA) was afforded to "neutral platforms"

2018-12-08 23:13:23 UTC

however, the replacement for NAFTA, the USMCA, restates the CDA s230 language but with no "neutral platform" requirement

2018-12-08 23:14:11 UTC

given that the US is signatory to this treaty, and given that the supremacy clause obligates judges to render rulings that are consistent with treaties,
the large platforms are all moving away from neutrality

2018-12-08 23:14:20 UTC

the gloves are off

2018-12-08 23:14:37 UTC

im glad

2018-12-08 23:14:45 UTC

the pendulum swings hard.

2018-12-08 23:14:51 UTC

also, regarding off platform activities.... just wait til sargon finds out what twitter takes into consideration

2018-12-08 23:15:05 UTC

heh

2018-12-08 23:15:09 UTC

Good thing he’s already banned from twitter

2018-12-08 23:15:11 UTC

overall it's looking more and more like all of these migration problems stem from the failures of the original EU incarnation. The league of nations (sounds like the league of villians really) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/League_of_Nations

2018-12-08 23:15:57 UTC

2020 is going to be a wild ride, folks

2018-12-08 23:16:01 UTC

yup

2018-12-08 23:16:21 UTC

lol we'lve gone full circle folks

2018-12-08 23:16:43 UTC

Outraged at other leftists

2018-12-08 23:23:14 UTC

and seems they also might of been a big cause of what started ww2

2018-12-08 23:23:52 UTC

@Timcast I hope you have plan B for income if patreon will say you have to move on 😉

2018-12-08 23:24:26 UTC

I wish consvervatives/reps would be more pro-active and made their own services respecting freedom of speech

2018-12-08 23:25:49 UTC

they do, and when they do they get shut down by banks/domain providers etc

2018-12-08 23:26:04 UTC

though it seems everyone is in the bubble - climate change laws = riots = we have to restrict freedom

2018-12-08 23:26:46 UTC

@aukkras Sargon said he's moving to https://www.subscribestar.com/ so that might be a lifeboat for a little while

2018-12-08 23:27:07 UTC

and it's not about hate speach per see, hate speach is just an excuse

2018-12-08 23:27:16 UTC

ultimately though they're beholden to their payment processor, and the payment processor is beholden to credit card companies.

2018-12-08 23:27:23 UTC

@Atkins nice

2018-12-08 23:27:29 UTC

they hate speech, thus hate speech...very orwellian
