Take the word "nigger"
Someone of the radical left wants this word banned because they are consequentialist. The context and intent of the word matter not. They only care if saying the word will have negative consequences.
If you listen to their justifications for it being banned it is quite clear
Same with polices
Look at affirmative action
You can commit the evil of racial discrimination as long as it benefits the "greater good" or at least their perceived greater good.
The left is thanos
Consequentialism isn't necessarily just utilitarianism FYI
Utilitarianism is a branch of consequentialism tho
u right tho
But yeah Utilitarianism is trash
Also I believe the reason the left deserters left the left is cause they are deontologists
I saw the moral arguments Tim was making in his videos
I think this is the true split in the left
The ones who base their morality on Utilitarianism and those who are Deontologists
Also I think the reason we group the far left and far right is because both their moralities are based on Utilitarianism
Maybe I am wrong idfk
But I just thought of that today
I think a lot of people might couch their moral defense in consequentialism even if they work off of a rules basis the rest of the time
Like for instance I suspected that even if the data showed that miscegenation forms ubermensch, ethnonationalists would still want to ethnonation
But
the ideologies that are pushed
can be looked at
I think I might be wrong with the far right
I just think a lot of the far left make a lot of greater good arguments to justify their bad behaviors
In fact that is all they do
Sure
I think that should be apart of the dialogue
And I think their focus falls neatly into the utilitarian category
It is something not said as much as it should be, because it can be used to fight back their ethical approaches to policy in a way that would ruin them, imo.
People usually back off when they are called racist or whatever, but instead if they explained their ethical approach and why it is wrong, I think it would be a lot more productive in shutting them down.
Or maybe not
xd
I kinda doubt it tbh. That's a little more charitable than I would be
The methodology is a little cult like in that it works to unperson critics and isolate adherents
So the Verge just wrote another propaganda filled hate piece against Pewdiepie.
basically all they can do, they can't build a computer to save their lives
Also I find the comments funny.
