There's nothing inherently wrong about blocking companies. But to do so as economic extortion to deplatform someone arbitrarily is pretty damned immoral.
discord isn't banning people yet, that I am aware of
they banned the racist nazis dough
I think their are to many people like us on here. it would go bad for them
Jump from processor to processor and make it clear to them why you are leaving
Simply ignoring the left's economic warfare isn't an option.
The message being "silence this person or we'll destroy your company".
Do the same for when you join a new one
If the right actually has more economic power than the left then it needs to prove it.
I don't think hopping processors is that easy.
so how do you organize a mass exoduse
take away thier food
There is an underwriting process, and probably a blacklist.
like honduras and venezuela did
Say "I left because the pervious company was getting involved politcally and doing things other than their designated business function"
@devpav the problem isn't the right not having power, the problem is that they're not willing to work together
Discord doesn't seem like a money-making venture at all.
Make it clear that you dont care what stance was taken, just that you would like the company to remain non political
@devpav ur joking right ?
Hell, half of the American right is still parroting "it's a free market", or "just make your own X"
Anyone can materialize a large twitter outrage mob in this day and age
@devpav i dont need to
and then whe you bring up trying to do anthing everyone says it cant be done
@Blackhawk342 maybe an organization, *an association if you will*, of people telling payment companies that message would make an impact.
Bots exist for this purpose
@devpav i meant this
Are you claiming that Discord is turning a profit?
are you claiming they arent ?
Discord only pulled in about a million dollars last year.
But they got $50M in investments.
According to everything I've read Discord's revenue is meager.
better than nuffin
Yeah, they haven't monetized it yet. Their goal is to become basically an essential utility for the games industry **then** monetize.
So basically Discord is burning up capital like a '90s-era dotcom.
Basically, yeah.
Hoping that they'll get integrated into a dozen other platforms who will pay to keep them around.
Next year will probably have a lot of tech companies going tits up
They obviously weren't expecting to absorb IRC as a user base instead.
Media death will accelerate, then tech companies will be next.
