Idk i fail to see the problem

2018-12-17 20:30:14 UTC

Which is what happened

2018-12-17 20:30:16 UTC

Ok I see how they did

2018-12-17 20:30:21 UTC

Everyone can do that cat

2018-12-17 20:30:23 UTC

Like when i have jury duty

2018-12-17 20:30:24 UTC

But yeah lol

2018-12-17 20:30:30 UTC

I use the time to catch up on my reading

2018-12-17 20:30:45 UTC

I can "confuse" the voters

2018-12-17 20:30:53 UTC

I'm on jury duty currently

2018-12-17 20:31:25 UTC

Like whole 20 century is history of propaganda

2018-12-17 20:31:32 UTC

But zutt, if a foreign government puts forth a concerted effort to manipulate our elections, that's a major concern

2018-12-17 20:31:39 UTC

Idk why its problem now

2018-12-17 20:31:59 UTC

Not really. I assume russia and china are attacking us 24/7/365

2018-12-17 20:32:01 UTC

Yah and you think we didnt do it back ??

2018-12-17 20:32:37 UTC

There is anti putin online campaign as well you know ?

2018-12-17 20:32:59 UTC

Didn't they look through the ads already and find pro Hillary ones as well?

2018-12-17 20:33:00 UTC

How do you even stop that ?

2018-12-17 20:33:25 UTC

I was under the impression that they were predominantly partisan and divisive

2018-12-17 20:33:25 UTC

One day at a time, sherif. One day at a time.

2018-12-17 20:33:40 UTC

@byathy think of the people that buy a garbage burger because they saw an ad on tv. Makes no sense to you maybe but they wouldn't be buying those ads if they didn't work

2018-12-17 20:33:44 UTC

Its complicated tbh

2018-12-17 20:34:11 UTC

I don't beleive ads effect people like that

2018-12-17 20:34:29 UTC

I've never seen someone watch a coke commercial and decide to drink a coke becuase of it

2018-12-17 20:34:30 UTC

Sure i dont disagree other govs are using propaganda

2018-12-17 20:34:39 UTC

Yeah I realized

2018-12-17 20:34:42 UTC

if people want a coke, they drink a coke. end of story.

2018-12-17 20:34:47 UTC

I just dont see how to stop it on soc media

2018-12-17 20:35:00 UTC

I'll say this though. I don't worry about other governments trying to alter votes because I EXPECT them to. I'd worry more if they didn't try because going down that road is scary as fuck

2018-12-17 20:35:04 UTC

Without going full authoritarian

2018-12-17 20:35:08 UTC

I didn't rush out and buy cup noodles because of the cup noodle quest in ff15

2018-12-17 20:35:29 UTC

Ads spread awareness of a thing. The idea is you get you to think of their product before that of the competition. It's not going to compel you to buy shit though

2018-12-17 20:36:01 UTC

all governments should be trying to alter the voting patterns of other nations toward their own interests. If they aren't trying to do so that means that they already got what they want

2018-12-17 20:36:06 UTC

The other part is the label

2018-12-17 20:36:37 UTC

@Beemann it's a kind of trigger, part of human nature, and why f2p games can be so exploitative

2018-12-17 20:36:52 UTC

Everybody who criticised dems is either altright or a russian agent now

2018-12-17 20:36:55 UTC

F2P games work on compulsion loops, not ads

2018-12-17 20:37:00 UTC

Not healthy imo

2018-12-17 20:37:05 UTC

I don't believe awareness turns into purchases.
kleenix brand tissues are so synonymous with tissues that itssues are just called kleenixes 99% of the time.
Their tissues suck. I always buy puffs

2018-12-17 20:37:36 UTC

part of that compulsion loop is ads and notifications to bring back awareness of the addiction

2018-12-17 20:38:21 UTC

M8
The reason why the f2p loop works is because they reward you less and less over time, forcing you to work more to get the same feeling
Like a drug
Ads don't do that

2018-12-17 20:38:44 UTC

no, what ads do is find those on the edge of leaving and bring them back in
