But in times of crisis, you essentially flip a switch, and government gets absolute authority so they can instantly make changes to solve said "crisis"

well i believe morals are subjective, which makes rights subjective, in my mind, but if you establish and define how private property is rightfully acquired through reason and philosophy, then what is private or not should not be subjective
