they are so soft about weapons, that they are torn about whether to be for or against a civilian armed force which has plausibly prevented hundreds or thousands of kidnappings, rapes, and murders.

you could kind of go "yeah thats one way of thinking about it, but another way could be...." and just have a mentality that you're just exchanging perspectives, and they don't have to believe you if they don't want to
