I saw a 16 year old get bitten, through leather army boots (cadet camp) by a funnelweb. Was foaming at the mouth within 30 mins.

Yeah also the female funnel webs have more potent bites than males

I think it's the other way around.
The females are bigger. The males more roaming and more aggressive.
