you know who else wanted to be a hero?
I'm also a goalless millennial, shit sucks
the kids from ww1
and no one talks about ww1
But @devpav the enlightenment indeed doesn’t explain everything and we’re still figuring out the world, but the ideas of the enlightenment do form somewhat of a basis to work from
I’m gen-z
even tho i disagree with Peterson in a lot i agree that purpose is what help us overcome existential dread
also Nihilism is cancer
I feel like Peterson's message is directed at the wrong people
Who? @ThreeOfOne
if you cant overcome the fact we dont have a purpose you are a failure in the way of nature
I like Peterson
i think he actually is directing it at the left
young men in their late teens to mid 20s @Montgomereeeee
Except for his views on atheism
but the left dont want to hear
he should be lecturing women on personal responsibility, but men are the scapegoat of everything wrong in society so it's politically correct to blame them
Left thinks they know everything better
he should be lecturing everyone
They have a superiority complex
Goals are what make the traditional idea of marriage worked so well. Men have the goal to get prestige enough to woo the girl. The woman requires maintenance of that level of prestige in order to have a stable environment for children. Without the idea of stable marriage, men wouldn't want to maintain anything (just reach a new goal) and women wouldn't have the conditions for optimal childrearing.
young people are the one suffering from existential dread
and it will become worst
The Enlightenment founded a political ideology that lacks any understanding of how Homo sapiens actually works.
the best our life becomes the more dread would begin
@ThreeOfOne agreed but a lot of women nowadays are indoctrinated with feminism
kinda like a persona`s game plot
what I mean is that women have a very important role as the reproductive filter of our species and the primary childbearers, but nobody really makes this apparent to them
And don’t want to listen because it confronts their worldview
Agreed @ThreeOfOne
I remember a video where Peterson lectured men about accepting partners 'warts and all' when it's overwhelmingly women who refuse to do so
There's a difference between encouraging motherhood and promoting a narrative that motherhood is the only value a woman has.
@Beyr agreed
I do believe women have more roles tho
peterson is right about a lot of things and wrong about a few things
It seems to me, many people who encourage motherhood are accused of 'devaluing' a woman to that being their only value, which makes people encouraging it villainized.
@Montgomereeeee being free makes it worse. Why would they make it worthwhile and beneficial to you if they don't have to justify the cost?
Traditional marriage works well because a system of sexual division of labor is ingrained evolutionarily by sexual dimorphism.
Thet are extremly charismatic and can have a Lot of empathy
