though not getting into college isn't always a bad thing, depending what career one wants to pursue there are more time efficient ways to get some credentials or skills
I just would like to give the best chance for success I guess. I went to the military to get my skill set, but it is always about giving the better life to your child thing for me.
Ivy League is tough enough to get in without adding another pass over point.
best of luck for your kid.
Is the narrative that I must trust that the bias is not there?
in my experience, the bias is overblown
some of it might be real, but theres not like, 9 out of ever 10 schools will whip people for the wrong origin
Given that the colleges might be anti religion?
well, you can't see a persons religious devotion
unless they announce it
or they wear some apparel
i'd consider that an announcement
Separation of church and education.
person wearing a hijab i won't start thinking "i wonder if thats a mormon..."
what if it's halloween
unless they have the bombs visibly strapped i wont assume its a costume 😉
but getting back to the college
Very good point that it is more acceptable and might be a bullet point to be Muslim
If the students wont know, they can't be jerks over it
If the teachers don't know they wont be jerks over it
and i'd imagine theres be something reported if a school actively starts declaring the religion of their previous schools as heresy
my way through college was head-down, and doing what i needed for my grades 😉
they'll leave you alone
because there's a 2/3 chance that you're from a protected group
thats already talking past the sale, and assuming they are malevolent
If the school doesn't have signs of clear bias, i wouldn't assume they have one
theres a reason why those wacky schools end up on the news, its BECAUSE they're so clearly insane
Has Catholicism become taboo? I wanted my kid to go there because it was a better option to NM public schools.
most schools don't care, as long as theres no problems
Catholicism itself might be somewaht of a taboo in some heavily SJW'ified areas like Berkley etc
but one can always go with the ol'"there were no other options where i grew up"
but i highly doubt it will be an issue
unless your son starts throwing bibles and pearls at people telling them to repent
whaddup guys
in general, if you don't throw such knowledge in peoples face, other people won't know, so they can't care about it either
nobody's gonna go straight up to you and ask you about your beliefs
exactly
because honestly nobody cares.
well people care if they know, if they don't, they'll just assume
I wouldn't worry about it
I guess it is just a father's worry. I have raised my kid to just let people live and God will sort it out. You have been great thank you again.
well if thats the way, i can't imagine there will be any troubles
