Not really sure anyone can survive on 1k a month without having roomates to split rent and utility costs with, even now when there is no UBI. So, people are not only going to be on UBI but they will also be on a bunch of the already existing welfare plans. The 2nd main factor is incentive and I think Tim tried to make this point on the rogan podcast. If I can work 40 hours a week and make 1600 a month or sit on my ass all day every day and make 1k a month...Which do you really think I am going to choose? If AI doesn't kill the jobs UBI will force costs up, on the low paid jobs that aren't fulfilling that nobody wants to do that aren't automated.
