I watched Ergo Proxy, Parasyte (The Maxim), Mardock Scramble, things like that

haven't seen any of those, though I'm aware of the first two

If you're into more intellectual stuff, like I am, then definitely Ergo Proxy

And Parasyte

The writing and dialogue made those for me as much as the visual art

Mardock Scramlbe is a 3 part series, really amazing, but not that brainy

Also, I highly recommend Jin Roh
