Ye
And mechs
Yeah makes sense.
Mostly because conflicts are becoming more insurgency surppression and soft power projection
aka where tanks aren't great
That's it
mechs are decades away at best
We ban aircraft
Ground combat vehicles will still be a thing, but the days of direct vehicle combat outside of guerilla/dirt-farmer environments is probably over, yeah
It's more of
Give them guns
Probably going to see more vehicles like the AJAX and Warriors replaxing MBTs.
And present it wasn't us
RICE IS DONE YES
It'll never be over, but you'll see a change more towards armored gun carries and armored cars than proper tanks
Especially when the era of railguns starts
Railguns are still really far out
On anything but navy ships
Ye
I mean, it kind of has already.
25 MW per shot I'm pretty sure
Nah not really
Lol new Russian T14 with 152mm gun can literally shoot nukes
It won't be a discrete 'hey tanks are obslete now scrap em all' but a more of 'nah, we never use these things, just keep updating them for the next 40 years'
***bias***
Railguns destroy thier own barrels quite quickly and need a massive power supply.
railguns arent practical
Make emm coal powered
at all
The power supply and rail wear are the big issue
Best we got on land is like 2 or 3 semi trucks in size for a single railgun
I imagine we'll just relegate the Abrams in a similar way to how we use the A10. Shock and awe work-horse.
That is how it's used now tbh
one of the things fallout 3 did that was cool and good was using these things as the basis of an enclave super weapon
We need mechs
Plasma guns
Are a thing
Even then for such a big target a semi truck is really vulnerable
