there was never a proper diagnosis for it because they never managed to catch it whilst it was happening, but they theorised that high intensity workouts were upping my blood pressure enough to burst blood vessels in my throat. and because I was always dehydrated, the capillaries would be closer to the surface of the throat than they would usually, so I'd cough blood.
