@Amthyric well either by their own power they decided to go up a flight of stairs and not take them on the way down or they jumped rope for fun under their own power of their muscles and because they do not have the attributes of a bird or outside catalyst such as a personal flying device they come back down because there is on resistance keeping them up in the medium they are in.
