@ส็็็Oddballส my personal beliefs are that the earth is a fixed, stationary, immovable topographical plane with a potential limitation/container above but the limits of this plane are unknown

2019-12-26 16:40:37 UTC

well thats perfectly fine

2019-12-26 16:40:55 UTC

i have the right to think your ideas are wrong, and you have the right to think mine are wrong

2019-12-26 16:40:59 UTC

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

2019-12-26 16:42:54 UTC

I dont claim an edge nor a dome seen as there is no evidence for either. but from what i can observe, experience the way the earth presents itself to me that its flat and stationary with no motion to the ground or convexity to bodies of water. Im not going to deny my senses & observations for an unverifiable story

2019-12-26 16:42:58 UTC

that being the GE

2019-12-26 16:43:27 UTC

GE = globe earth

2019-12-26 16:43:29 UTC

My senses tell me of a flat plane.

2019-12-26 16:43:32 UTC

^^

2019-12-26 16:43:35 UTC

exactly

2019-12-26 16:43:39 UTC

maybe it is

2019-12-26 16:43:44 UTC

And a great wall of ice.

2019-12-26 16:43:47 UTC

Potentially.

The earth is an oblate spheroid

2019-12-26 17:19:47 UTC

Im not trying to say anyones dumb or wrong im just wanting to know the reasoning behind because im always up for somthing new if it makes sense

2019-12-26 17:19:51 UTC

in the case of rapid spinning, the centripetal force overcomes the gravitational attraction trying to create a spherical shape. Earth is an example of this, hence the oblate spheroid shape.

2019-12-26 17:19:57 UTC

but why is the earth flat?

2019-12-26 17:20:03 UTC

Since the Earth is flattened at the poles and bulges at the Equator, geodesy represents the figure of the Earth as an oblate spheroid. The oblate spheroid, or oblate ellipsoid, is an ellipsoid of revolution obtained by rotating an ellipse about its shorter axis.

2019-12-26 17:20:50 UTC

then how come we dont go flying off the earth if its spinning that fast

2019-12-26 17:20:55 UTC

..?

2019-12-26 17:21:01 UTC

Gravity

2019-12-26 17:21:14 UTC

but gravity is what would in theory keep the earth round

2019-12-26 17:21:34 UTC

That’s what I’m saying. The earth is round.

2019-12-26 17:21:39 UTC

oh

2019-12-26 17:21:48 UTC

I just put a bunch of proof

2019-12-26 17:22:06 UTC

Oh i thought you were saying the eart was like a semi flat but with like a cylnder like curved edge to it

2019-12-26 17:22:19 UTC

essentially a squished sphere

2019-12-26 17:22:35 UTC

No I wasn’t saying that

2019-12-26 17:22:45 UTC

ok then im dumb nvm

2019-12-26 17:22:50 UTC

It’s ok

2019-12-26 17:24:03 UTC

Also I have a question for flat earthers. If the earth **is** flat, how come the mountain tops aren’t in space?

2019-12-26 17:24:19 UTC

thats what i was thinkin lol

2019-12-26 17:24:22 UTC

Yep

2019-12-26 17:24:39 UTC

I just want to know what flat earthers think

2019-12-26 17:24:42 UTC

also if the earth is lat

2019-12-26 17:25:12 UTC

flat wouldnt the speed that the earth is "moving" upwards push all air and oxeygen extra off the edge of the planet? and wouldnt we also get extreme winds blowing down upon us

2019-12-26 17:25:42 UTC

I was on a flat earth server called Flat Earth 24/7. I asked these same questions and was banned. I just wanna know how they answer it.

2019-12-26 17:26:23 UTC

@Roaringthunder115 what do you mean mountain tops not being in space?

2019-12-26 17:26:52 UTC

If the earth is flat, wouldn’t the mountaintops be in space?
