math

Scientific method or go home.

2020-01-14 17:36:21 UTC

just because it isnt visible doesnt mean it isnt valid

2020-01-14 17:37:34 UTC

some one has never actually spent time in a real scientific community

@Flat Earth PhD I'm a little late, but here's a good example of exposure. In this video, the exposure has been set for lower lighting conditions and allows us to see the stars in the background. If you take a look at the first 3 seconds of the video, though, that exposure completely blows out the details on the arm of the satellite on the right of the screen to the point of just being pure white. Those are the kind of lighting extremes you get with different exposure rates (depending on your camera).

love that vid @Drewski4343 , so pretty

Mainstream science operates by scientific consensus. Where they merely all agree with eachother theories are real. Excusing themselves from proving it. Religions do the same thing.

@inky Love that nice bit of aurora borealis

2020-01-14 17:39:47 UTC

nope, thats not how they operate, thats just how you want them to operate so that you can say they are wrong

2020-01-14 17:40:17 UTC

things are constantly disproved and proved in science, especially in post doc research

2020-01-14 17:41:14 UTC

so what causes "gravity" to you?

2020-01-14 17:41:24 UTC

LOL

2020-01-14 17:41:29 UTC

Since it’s your burden of proof, you have to tell me.

2020-01-14 17:41:43 UTC

Derek has the best gifs, ngl

2020-01-14 17:41:55 UTC

I try.

2020-01-14 17:42:06 UTC

Much love despite our disagreements, Drewski.

2020-01-14 17:42:13 UTC

mass bending space time and affecting the things around it, one of the four fundamental forces

2020-01-14 17:42:16 UTC

haha absolutely

2020-01-14 17:42:38 UTC

and we can see it in every star, galaxy and planet

2020-01-14 17:43:21 UTC

operates exactly how the mathematical proof shows

2020-01-14 17:44:18 UTC

You’re missing something calling tangible. If you can’t directly observe and measure, you’re still assuming. I’m really sorry, but it’s true.

2020-01-14 17:45:48 UTC

i can directly observe and measure, drop a pencil, watch a planet circle a distant star, calculate masses, enter into the gravitational formula and see if the times match up for both]

2020-01-14 17:46:21 UTC

You can directly observe Venus without actually being able to get there?

2020-01-14 17:46:38 UTC

Just stop, please.

2020-01-14 17:46:54 UTC

yea by seeing it and following its movement in the night sky

2020-01-14 17:47:23 UTC

with a light margin of error because of atmospheric lensing and turbulence

2020-01-14 17:47:26 UTC

Stop forcing your beliefs on me.

2020-01-14 17:47:49 UTC

im not

2020-01-14 17:47:58 UTC

its not a belief lmao

2020-01-14 17:48:32 UTC

wait i wanna ask a question seriously derek

2020-01-14 17:48:47 UTC

like light hearted debate and all aside

2020-01-14 17:49:36 UTC

If you could prove something by the scientific method, you would. Since you can’t, you have to opt for a different method that’s entirely theory, that you treat as fact. You’re a religious zealot in that regard. (Because you can’t prove it.)

2020-01-14 17:50:09 UTC

well theory doesnt mean the same thing in the scientific regard

2020-01-14 17:51:10 UTC

theory has a higher certainty than a law, it is the highest honor a scientific proof can achieve because of how often it can be tested and proved accurately

2020-01-14 17:51:17 UTC

any ways that all aside

2020-01-14 17:51:58 UTC

legitimately, what would convince you that we live on a globe, if anything

2020-01-14 17:52:07 UTC

If you don’t use the scientific method, the word proof has no business leaving your lips.

2020-01-14 17:53:03 UTC

Go to <#538929818834698260> and prove the globe.

2020-01-14 17:53:04 UTC

the scientific method is not the only way to make scientific proofs or discoveries, but my question
