it does initally, then it would burn perpendicular to the ground
i would have to look at the flight plan to be sure however
I only have to be right once. You have to be right every time
do you know the basics of orbital mechanics?
So many things with apollo
to get into a orbit it needs to accelerate perpendicular to the ground
Which they dont
Gtg for a bit
ok
also it wouldn't burn exactly perpendicular to the ground, especially near the start
it would be a higher angle so it gains altitude as well
so i found the article that gif came from
https://www.aulis.com/apollo17_ascent.htm
Its impressive looking, but i don't think its exactly proof
firstly who is the author, Julius A. Birch. I can't find anything about them except this article on aulis online
secondly there are several assumptions within it and i can not verify their work
@Cakeeater Orbital mechanics don't work if there is no round body to orbit around, therefore Apollo missions are just shams.
get back to work
@Cakeeater Are you his taskmaster or something?
its complicated
I'm trying to explain to my friend that he shouldn't blindly trust in globeheads. However, he keeps asking me to show him evidence, but doesn't accept anything I show him. What are some more "legitimate" things I could show him?
beyond official sources such as NASA no idea, maybe disprove counter points
YouTube has plenty of independent researchers trying to spread the truth.
I personally don't trust NASA, but believe we are living on a globe.
Well like he's looking for something like NASA, with the same level of "officialness." Is there any sort of alternative that I could show to someone really set in their belief?
Or is it just a lost cause?
Lost cause unless you can convince them without NASA
Like
Well The Onion is a reputable news source that has reported on it before
The onion?
wait what
Isn't that a satircal news company
Not at all
Though they have slowed down
i thought they were going bankrupt
Are there any specific articles you would recommend showing him?
I'm sure if the mainstream considers a source reputable he'll at least consider it.
two good examples
Ok, I'll show them to him.
I'm looking for relevant onion articles but haven't found any yet.
