When ships go in the straight line over the horizon where do they go?

I belive that they follow the curvature of the earth and therefore go out of sight.

Dont get me wrong, the earth or other planets arent exact spheres because of mountains and things like that but its certainly not flat in my opinion.

Man, there's much better evidence out there than the "ships over the horizon" argument. How far you can see is eventually dependent on the refractive index anyway. It's not worth arguing one way or the other.

I do believe in gravity. But I don't think the curve is easily visible at 42,000 ft.

maybe you would see the slightest hint if you view sunrise/sunset
