well its hard to get an exact value for the refraction without values for the air density in that region

2020-02-29 12:01:41 UTC

it CANNOT explain the horizon

2020-02-29 12:01:43 UTC

forget it

2020-02-29 12:01:55 UTC

stop trolling

2020-02-29 12:02:06 UTC

it does, because the refraction is working in a way thats parabolic

2020-02-29 12:02:07 UTC

you DONT have refraction

2020-02-29 12:02:08 UTC

derp

2020-02-29 12:02:10 UTC

Distance to the horizon D = sqrt(2 * height of your eyes * Radius of the Earth)

2020-02-29 12:02:30 UTC

wheres it say 'refraction'

2020-02-29 12:02:33 UTC

exactly

2020-02-29 12:02:37 UTC

welcome to flat earth

2020-02-29 12:02:54 UTC

the refraction of light is curved on a spherical earth

2020-02-29 12:02:59 UTC

nope

2020-02-29 12:03:06 UTC

let's just ignore him

2020-02-29 12:03:11 UTC

obvious <:trolled:555217274907262976>

2020-02-29 12:03:16 UTC

everytime you say refraction youre a flat earther 🙂

2020-02-29 12:03:16 UTC

probably he will go away

2020-02-29 12:09:09 UTC

well as far as I am concerned your all wrong as you haven't offered any real counter evidence to this.

2020-02-29 12:09:14 UTC

only literal appeals to authority

2020-02-29 12:12:49 UTC

So your link states: "we neglect the refraction of light in the atmosphere, which may increase this value" btw

2020-02-29 12:14:19 UTC

bye bye glob

2020-02-29 12:21:38 UTC

Given refraction depends on the temperature gradient, being over ice does not negate refraction. In fact refraction can be extreme in arctic regions where the atmosphere can be much much warmer than the ocean or ice

2020-02-29 12:27:00 UTC

youre not allowed refraction in a glob model

2020-02-29 12:34:39 UTC

Because?

2020-02-29 12:43:12 UTC

The earth is round u goy fogs

2020-02-29 12:43:40 UTC

I'm not sure what your point is?

2020-02-29 12:43:57 UTC

I joined this to say this ur all dumb asf the earth is round

2020-02-29 12:44:08 UTC

Idiots

2020-02-29 12:44:11 UTC

Stupid

2020-02-29 12:44:14 UTC

2020-02-29 12:44:28 UTC

Ur bad

2020-02-29 12:44:29 UTC

Ahhahaha

2020-02-29 12:44:32 UTC

Earth is round

2020-02-29 12:44:53 UTC

There's a geometric horizon because the earth is round, and also there is refraction, therefore the actual location is distorted/you get weird optical effects

2020-02-29 12:45:42 UTC

So u think the earth is round too

2020-02-29 12:49:32 UTC

Indeed

2020-02-29 13:03:34 UTC

there are no weird effects, just the horizon being at a distance impossible for a ball
