2020-02-06 23:37:48 UTC

what are your views?

2020-02-06 23:38:08 UTC

i used to be a baptist, but now I'd call myself an atheist

2020-02-06 23:43:25 UTC

wait

2020-02-06 23:43:27 UTC

you must be joking

2020-02-06 23:43:33 UTC

you really don't know what frescography is?

2020-02-06 23:44:06 UTC

@moira I was born and raised LDS. I love fellowshipping, studying with and of other Christian denominations & religious concepts. Still, the, "Mormon" church is what rings most true to me.
Though, admittedly, I do not walk the "straight and narrow". I've stayed often and far from the set narrative, dogma, of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints and am clawing my way back.

2020-02-06 23:45:49 UTC

hmm, I've never really agreed with the Mormon narrative.

2020-02-06 23:46:10 UTC

I believe the Protestant narrative is closest to Scripture

2020-02-06 23:46:17 UTC

lol...

2020-02-06 23:46:26 UTC

you haven't even read the scripture

2020-02-06 23:47:14 UTC

I have, I studied Bible quite a bit in school.

2020-02-06 23:47:25 UTC

I went to a school where Bible was taught.

2020-02-06 23:47:29 UTC

and you think that protestantism is true to faith?

2020-02-06 23:47:32 UTC

so i gave read a bit

2020-02-06 23:47:39 UTC

okay

2020-02-06 23:47:42 UTC

no judging

2020-02-06 23:47:47 UTC

sorry for the aggressive tone

2020-02-06 23:47:53 UTC

i've been really mean to you friend

2020-02-06 23:47:58 UTC

Protestantism wasn't divinely inspired. It was formed, literally, out of protest.

2020-02-06 23:48:04 UTC

no worries it's been a while but I believe we studied Mormonism as well

2020-02-06 23:48:22 UTC

I'm not familiar with all of Mormonism's interpretations, mind refreshing me?

2020-02-06 23:49:08 UTC

I believe Protestantism was more of a returning to roots

2020-02-06 23:49:23 UTC

after people got fed up with the corrupt Catholic church that is

2020-02-06 23:49:45 UTC

it's kind of impossible for protestantism to be correct, scripturally

2020-02-06 23:50:00 UTC

these people believe that everyone was wrong for 1500 years and then they got back on the right path

2020-02-06 23:50:03 UTC

but that's impossible

2020-02-06 23:50:18 UTC

if the church were to fall, it would be armageddon

2020-02-06 23:50:35 UTC

hmm not exactly

2020-02-06 23:51:00 UTC

the Catholic church was wrong, and there were protestant sentiments through out it's reign.

2020-02-06 23:51:16 UTC

but the Protestant reformation was more of a tipping point

2020-02-06 23:51:43 UTC

although you could accuse certain catholic practices as being immoral, catholic dogma was never wrong

2020-02-06 23:51:51 UTC

to any major degree at least

2020-02-06 23:52:02 UTC

us and the roman catholics disagree on very few things

2020-02-06 23:52:32 UTC

the idea of purgatory, is very unbiblical

2020-02-06 23:52:42 UTC

which is a big teaching in the Catholic church

2020-02-06 23:52:54 UTC

yeah we skip that one

2020-02-06 23:53:04 UTC

In brief: 200 years ago (during the second Great Awakening) a young boy by the name of Joseph Smith Junior was reading the Bible when he came across James 1:5
the next day he went out to the woods near his home in upstate New York, to pray. Soon he was visited by God the Father and Jesus Christ, whom proceeded to expound upon him the narrative that No Church Was True. . .
Later on, he was visited by the angel Moroni who showed him the record of his people, aka the plates of brass.

2020-02-06 23:54:26 UTC

also if you would be so kindly to refresh me on the Mormon view of marriage?

2020-02-06 23:55:11 UTC

One moment please and I'll fetch the official proclamation...
