@Maksim there was no debate i simply explained what the analogy was and corrected his strawman
i explained why i dont wanna debate him and yet he keeps on being zealous about it
then don't keep talking about the subject if you don't want to debate
if you really truly do not want to debate, do not respond to this
and we both stop
explaining an analogy isnt demanding a debate what lol
nor is correcting an incorrect representation of an argument
> if you really truly do not want to debate, do not respond to this
and i explained why i can respond and yet not contradict my claim about not wanting a debate about philosophy with someone as disingenuous as you
i dont wanna debate someone as disingenuous as you either
sure, you don't have to
just as i dont have to debate you
dont know how can it not be any more clear
right
by not talking about it anymore
well i can talk about it and yet not debate you, i dont see how me explaining an analogy was somehow analagous to seeking a debate with you
ok how about this
both of us just move on
and stop talking about it
and if you want to debate me at a later time then that is fine
Cool. So he said he doesn't understand why the church and the state needn't be seperated, if any theist wants to slap him around, tag him about it
some theists do agree with me
i don't believe those "theists" are truly consistent
aight i brb
mm
now I back
again
Church and State ought to work in *symphonia*
Not one above the other or separate but rather that they collaborate to the betterment of both
I disagree. I don't think the state should really intervene in the church mainly because symbolically the church is the mind. The church dictates what the state does not vice versa
Straying from the church has proven to be disasterous.
The state should subject itself to the church. All will kneel before Christ, this doesn't stop because you are a politician.
Good post above
@Sentient23 I’m not saying necessarily direct intervention. But rather that they shouldn’t be separated.
Trust me, I’d prefer not have Kings appointing bishops or anything. But the church should definitely play a role in the government and should aid the state if the state represents the interest of the church in a proper manner.
You can have pseudo democratic republics that operate with religious oversight
Iran’s modern history shows potential with the fusing of contemporary political philosophy with religion
Fuck Christianity
Cringe
Stfu christard
Okay r/atheism
