It depends entirely on the rest of your life, whether you committed mortal sin, whether you were Baptised, etc.
what does being baptised grant you
Grace
There are gnostic denominations like the Manadeans that also practice baptism, does that give them Grace?
They call it Baptism, that does not make it so
Baptism can only be performed by the Catholic Church
The Manadeans consider John the Baptist a prophet, it's not like they're not Christian
There is only one Christian Church, the one founded by Jesus on the rock of Peter
What beliefs do Samatarians hold?
Samaritanism
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samaritanism
They believe themselves to be the original jews essentially.
@ComradeChaos but still continue holding their beliefs regarding Torah, Yehva and other Jewish aspects?
As far as I'm aware they strictly follow the torah
so kind of like Orthodox Jews? @ComradeChaos
Essentially, but I think they would still view the Orthodox as corrupted by time
dont orthodox jews also follow the talmud?
Hence the "corrupted by time" part
ahhh
Anyways, since I'm not sure was that question dedicated to all of religions or just some religion I am not aware of but for the sake of it, from Islamic views they are still to be regarded as every other Dhimni, if they are acting and behaving in good manners, they are to be awarded for their deeds on Dunya (this world) and as for the punishment that is to come in Akhira (Other world, mainly Heaven and Hell) it is up to Allah (swt) to decide
I think when we die we're reabsorbed by negative existence until God has a need for us again. I don't think you should base your mercy on denomination and that principally the point of life is to establish a better future for your children and the wider future. We've been nearly taken out by floods and asteroids in the past, a better future is going to ultimately be built through both cooperation, philosophy and an understanding of what can't be forgiven in spite of their works to benefit you. I don't think people will actually do this, but it would be a nice world.
There's nothing new under the sun so people who were like us in spirit must have existed in the past, maybe the reward for a life well lived is the absence of a host and by extension, material suffering. If God is all, then that would be hell, but if God is not then union with the God unmanifest is true reintegration.
So, I was thinking that maybe everybody just finds their own way to get by. Differences between people's way of survival are called out as sin, but we are all really just trying to get by.
<@&588707615643795456> Daily Question 🔖
- What is your basis for believing your holy book/God is true and correct? Why?
Because I know it’s the case
I have no Holy Book. <:Chad:591182354270257170>
25,000+ archaeological digs supporting the historicity of events in the Bible
That’s nothing
I have faith
@Attika I hope so. And for all that I study, I am often gifted the feeling of reassurance to the statements made.
Thats a good answer
I believe because I have seen his work firsthand
@Attika oh a witness to miracles! Do tell.
Because many antiquity scholars agree Jesus was a real person, a lot of historicity supporting the Bible, strong case for Apostolic Succession, the many cases of miracles happening relating to the Eucharist, etc.
I watched a woman recover her eyesight after being permanently being blind and then deciding to open her heart and pray. My grandmother was also healed from stage 4 cancer.
I also saw a man who destroyed families die after prophesying his own death
🤔 fascinating stuff these are.
I find that a little truth in all religions worth their salt, like a ghostly fingerprint of a civilization that was ripped apart by a catastrophe
If you approach history, science and religion from a syncretic/ perennial perspective the truth will become obvious
