I learned in HS that much of Greek philosophy was preserved by Muslims and brought to Europe by trade. Before Mohammed there were the Mandaeans, a Gnostic religion still existing in present day Iraq.

I find it interesting that they integrated baptism as a ritual. I took a quick glance at their main holy book, Ginza Rba, and it seems to be some metaphysical polytheism in which their gods embody aspects of the spiritual world.

So, I was thinking that maybe everybody just finds their own way to get by. Differences between people's way of survival are called out as sin, but we are all really just trying to get by.

I'll shoot. One of the philosophies of Mahayana Buddhism is the doctrine of the Ratnagotravibhaga. The world can be seen as an emination of divinity (of the Buddha). Only, despite everything being derived from a divine nature, there are imperfections that manifest "accidentally". Yet, once one is aware of these accidental imperfections part of us eminating from divinity, we can also join in the unity of the divine nature (the Buddha).

What is a Christian to meditate on while going about their daily business?

I would prefer to keep my religious identity as much a private matter as I can. I'm not very religious you see, so I don't want to be seen as the face of any denomination.

Well, Jesus said he came to save sinners, not the righteous. I've learned that early Christians were called superstitious. And that they were very self-aware of their potential to commit crimes. One famous Jew (whose name I don't recall) argued that nobody would believe in the Trinity who was not taught it from birth. I would think that perhaps not everybody recognized Christ's divinity who did not need to, but that the popularity of the religion derived from the poor.

Ah, yes everyone is a sinner. We all feel distant from God in this life.

Perhaps the teachings of the scriptures would make sense even to the Jews.

It should last until no new cases appear for a while, and it should not impede with daily life. Punishing people will not stop them. The quarentine is necessary to limit the effect of the disease.
