lol so the not well-educated people are all going to well-educate themselves?

2020-01-27 21:11:49 UTC

Popular sovereignty

2020-01-27 21:13:49 UTC

lol So we're gonna assemble the most knowledgeable, wise and well-educated people of the country, elect a number of them (i'd say 50), and have them reform the education.

2020-01-27 21:18:13 UTC

>lol

2020-01-27 21:18:14 UTC

No

2020-01-27 21:18:18 UTC

lol why not just have it like that? educate people but don't allow them to become the government

2020-01-27 21:18:21 UTC

No lols in here

2020-01-27 21:18:25 UTC

2020-01-27 21:18:47 UTC

Because the Governments abuse people and become corrupt.

2020-01-27 21:19:25 UTC

what in the government abuses people and becomes corrupt?

2020-01-27 21:19:26 UTC

There're also more chances for a dictatorship to appear in a Representative Democratic system rather than in a direct one.

2020-01-27 21:20:25 UTC

people abuse people and become corrupt. you are basically telling me you want to increase abuse and corruption

2020-01-27 21:20:27 UTC

The members of the Government often abuse their powers, take important decisions without approval from neither the representatives nor the people, and in many other underground ways.

2020-01-27 21:20:33 UTC

What?

2020-01-27 21:20:42 UTC

That's completely irrelevant and false.

2020-01-27 21:21:01 UTC

you are literally advocating for increasing the government

2020-01-27 21:21:25 UTC

if you think the government is abusive and corrupt, increasing it will increase abuse and corruption

2020-01-27 21:21:40 UTC

basic logic my dude

2020-01-27 21:22:02 UTC

More Democracy = Less Corruption.

2020-01-27 21:22:06 UTC

Basic logic my dude.

2020-01-27 21:22:10 UTC

how?

2020-01-27 21:22:26 UTC

The less power one has, the less likely it is for them to be corrupt.

2020-01-27 21:22:31 UTC

Obviously.

2020-01-27 21:23:15 UTC

the less power one has, the more they want it
are you familiar with the law of diminishing returns?

2020-01-27 21:24:09 UTC

That's where education comes in, and other factors that stop people from the desire of excessive power.

2020-01-27 21:24:34 UTC

There should be a roof, a limit to the power one can have. When it exceeds the limit, you kill them.

2020-01-27 21:24:35 UTC

how does education lead to people wanting less power?

2020-01-27 21:25:10 UTC

I'm not in favor of brain washing, but haven't you heard of it?

2020-01-27 21:25:20 UTC

It's a form of education.

2020-01-27 21:25:33 UTC

Education plays a huge role in people's beliefs.

2020-01-27 21:29:43 UTC

1) if you're not in favor of brainwashing, what are you in favor of?
2) brainwashing is much more effective when the brainwashed are docile and have no institutional power
3) we are simply going to disagree on the impact of education on beliefs. emotional impulse is the biggest predictor of political affiliation for example. there is no wait you are going to educate ambitious people out of their ambition

2020-01-27 21:33:22 UTC

emotional impulse is the biggest predictor in majority populations. results don't replicate among minority groups

2020-01-27 21:35:16 UTC

1) An education which is absolute on objective matters, and on subjective matters an education which states the facts objectively, without leaning to any sides, and letting the students lean in to any side by themselves.
2) Brainwashing doesn't always work, is unethical and violates human rights.
3) You can educate one before they become ambitious or develop any huge emotional impulses. For those who have already been "educated," you can reduce their ambition. And well, if they are idiotic absolutes, the state doesn't need them, and the people can vote for them to be deported.

Emotional impulse is __currently__ the biggest predictor in majority populations indeed, but that's because people of these majority populations have not received proper education, with good quality.

2020-01-27 21:35:30 UTC

Basically education, nowadays, is biased, subjective and bad.

2020-01-27 21:35:57 UTC

So the emotional impulse that is inside every each and one of us takes control of our mind.

2020-01-27 21:36:00 UTC

Point 3 sounds distopian

2020-01-27 21:37:09 UTC

@Maksim How so?

2020-01-27 21:38:35 UTC

the biggest problem with education how it currently functions is that its much less concerned with developing the child as a whole through knowledge and guidance and much more concerned with test marks, grades and just "teaching" the child whats necessary for them to secure a job. obviously this is important as well but education should be much more than that
