Well... I guess what I'm trying to say is it doesn't need to be that way.

I *want* it to be that way. Struggle and conflict between peoples is not only inevitable, but good. It will lead to the evolution of mankind.

Evolution into a warlike species, which... Honestly war is cool and all, violence is cool, but only for the right reasons.

The prime directive in my mind is to get us off this rock before the sun goes boom.

And we can't really do that if we're at each other's throats.

I mean, we can, but there's more than one way to skin a cat.

And while war does accelerate production, and research, it's not the most efficient way of getting things where they need to be.

It's often a necessity, sure.

We've got plenty of time for that. If one people were determined enough I 'd say they could conquer the world in a couple centuries. Well before the sun goes insane. I'd say violence for the betterment of one's nation and species is a good reason. War requires inteligence, physical strength, courage etc. all good and eternally beneficial traits.

It also requires one to quiet one's conscience, one's empathy. And we do need those qualities so that life does not become a living hell.

Freedom is not a right but a struggle, it isn’t absolute a freedom during wartime differs from freedom of peace however it is the duty to serve in the name of the state, as the state is total, the state is all and you are part of that all, therefore the state grants you rights to act as a reasonable, prosperous, and beneficial citizen of the state, the citizen may do about as they please as long as it prospers the state in the end, the government must prosper it nonetheless.
